Bald Jason's Musings

   Sunday, April 25, 2010

Friday morning was spent at home watching LOST and chilling with Mark on his 39th birthday. We couldn't do much because of lack of funds and his recent surgery but I encouraged people to tell him happy birthday. After the nightmare that was my party last year I'm hoping to have something low key this year myself. I later went to Michael's for a visit (with Mark's approval) where we did the sex thing (yummy yet shockingly violent), watched "Avatar" (which I thought was very pretty but very predictable), and then slept very well.

Saturday (my nephew Justin's 16th birthday) we went to the Dollar store for water (which they were out of) and GameStop for a new Wii powercord. We hit Meijer for groceries and then headed home. On the way home I called Justin to wish him happy birthday and told him my memories of his birth, which he said was a great story. At Michael's we watched 'Ponyo'. I skipped out half way through to read the rest of 'Alabaster' and continue into 'Threshold'. I started reading the latter book years ago but couldn't finish it because a character that somehow reminded me of my best friend was in deadly peril and I didn't want to think about her dying. I got that friend to read the book and she's read several in the series now and it's finally time for me to catch up. I slept about 20 minutes.

Later Michael & I played Wii Super Mario Brothers to much laughter and cursing. There was a lot of tickling and playing. Later still we watched the first 4.5 episodes of 'Wolverine & the X-Men' (not including the prequel film 'Hulk vs. Wolverine' which we skipped for now) and then bed.

Woke up with a headache again but fooled around with Michael a bit. Did the farm thing. Michael & I finished the 'X-Men' episode we left off on Saturday night ("Thieve's Gambit") & watched the next one ("X-Calibre"). Michael left for work while I climbed back into bed to sort out my headache. I layed there about a half hour until my headache had passed. I made the bed, took a shower, did the dishes, packed and took out the trash. I stopped at Hillers where I got water as I'd promised Mark I would. Michael bought him the crunchy cheetos that he'd wanted while we were at Meijer the day before. I headed home.

I worked on Michael farm. I watched the news. Chatted with Mark. Watched more news. Did Michael farm again (getting him up to the next level: 73) and then had a shake while I watched the new Doctor Who ("The Time of Angels") which was pretty good, but hard to judge as it's a part I of II; I'd definitely say it's better than the last 2 episodes. The episode features the return of the Weeping Angels (from "Blink") and River Song (from "Silence in the Library" / "Forest of the Dead"). The latter character's return is a big deal for me, and this episode reminded me a lot of her first appearance in that while I enjoyed it when it aired, it was somewhat unsatisfying until Part II aired and proved that the entire story was fantastic. I'm hoping for a similar outcome here. Watched the making of the episode after that.

I'm sleepy. And my jaw hurts. I've tried to relax it the last few days. I might take a muscle relaxant later; not sure.

Oh. Also read this article about the upcoming Alien film prequels. Really hoping these rock. If they do make these 2 films that will give the original Alien movie 7 prequels and bring the series to an 11 film total:

01 Predator (1987)
02 Predator 2 (1990)
03 Alien vs. Predator (2004)
04 Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)
05 Predators (2010)
06 Alien Prequel 1 (2012)
07 Alien Prequel 2 (????)
08 Alien (1979)
09 Aliens (1986)
10 Alien 3 (1992)
11 Alien Resurrection (1997)

Hopefully the new Alien Prequels & Predators won't suck. I'd like to see more Predator films, and someday, hopefully we'll get a post 'Resurrection' Alien entry. ;-0)
