Bald Jason's Musings

Saturday Evening, around 4pm, Mark & I watched the new Doctor Who episode "Blink". It was fantastic. Scary. Funny. Smart. Well directed, acted, produced, & written. It was also written in such a way that I think anyone who's never seen Doctor Who before could understand the program. I remembered that Mollie was trying to convert Karen & Adam to the show, and then remembered all the times I'd watched Buffy with Karen and called her at work, asking if she'd like to come over and watch the show. She didn't leave answer so I left a message. A few hours later, I called her after running some errands, but the phone went right to voicemail, so I stopped by her work, which proved to be the right thing to do as she was worried I'd called about something more dramatic, and her phone had died. She agreed to come over and watch Who. We got to talk to Yvette Tower before we left, and we had fun Jason/Karen time, before watching "Blink" which freaked Karen out.

oh. After we left Meijer, but before we got to my house, we stopped at the Aut Bar and had a drink, and chatted. That was fun too. ;-0)

Apparently Karen saw at least half of the 9th Doctor's stories, and then didn't love the 10th Doctor; only seeing "The Christmas Invasion" & "School Reunion" (with her idol, Anthony 'Giles' Head), who I told her now narates the behind the scenes Confidential program, and an animated character. I also let it slip that Rose is no longer on the program and gave her bits of info that I think might make her want to see the series. I hope it worked, because I love when my friends like the shows that I watch.

I was dead tired when I drove Karen home. I've been sleeping very well at night, but stayed up hours past my bedtime to have these moments with Karen. But when I got home I still couldn't sleep, as I was kind of wired or something. I went to bed around 4am.

Sunday, I made sure to eat well before I went to work. Work was somewhat hectic, but we got everything finished, and customers were mostly cool. Mollie was supposed to call me after work, but I had to run some errands and I was hoping to get those done before she called. I went to the bank for cash. I returned a Battlestar Galactica dvd that I'd rented from Video Hut because the one at our store was checked out, and over a week late. I went grocery shopping. I came home, got the groceries inside, put them all away. I cleaned the kitchen & the dishes. I cleaned my room. I took a shower. Mollie still hadn't called, so I called her. Apparently she was getting errands done as well. We had a nice chat. She's staying in touch with Karen, Carrie & Adam as well, which rocks. ;-0)

I watched the Doctor Who Confidential episode that went behind the scenes of "Blink". Not only did it cover that episode, but also a great deal of older Doctor Who, which got me very excited to watch the rest of the series! lol Oh. And there are only 3 more episodes of the Doctor this season, and each one takes place just after Torchwood Season 1, and feature Captain Jack Harkness! ;-0)

I was up late again. It takes me longer to sleep when I close the store. It takes me a long while to unwind.

Monday I slept until noon. I did some writing. Played a video game. Chatted online. I watched a movie that I'd rented called "This Film Is Not Yet Rated" - which I loved, and is so going on my top 12 at work. It's a very important film to see I think.

I also ordered some more Doctor Who dvds. Of the 50 so available (or soon to be available) Doctor Who dvds, I only need 12 more; 2 of those aren't available until August, and after I have all those I can just order them as they are released. ;-0)

Mark's been reading Harry Potter in overdrive; it's really something to see. It makes me smile to know he'll soon be reading book 5, 6 & 7. He will most likely not have to wait to read book 7, as books 5 & 6 will take him awhile, and book 7 comes out in a little over a month.

After Mark went to bed, I remembered that I wanted to track dowm some Catherine Tate skits on youtube, which made me laugh so hard that I was crying. Then I started coughing. I started to feel like I was coming down with a cold, which is weird for me. I mean, I don't think I've been around many people and when I have been, no one seemed ill, and I've been very good about sanatizing and washing my hands. Add to that, I've been taking at least 500 mg of vitamin c a day, and Saturday I actually had chicken noodle soup. I took some cough medicine, and then sucked on some cold-eze. Hopefully that's taken care of. I don't feel that great at the moment, but it's because I woke up with my room hot and stifled. I turned the air down, and hopefully I'll feel better later.

I work today, 1-5:30pm. I work with 2 new girls. DJ wants me to be there for them, and get them to have more fun at work or something. I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully I don't have a cold, because that could really dampen my drive for fun. lol We'll see.
