The new girls didn't end up working on Tuesday, owing to one of them (Kim) having her birthday that day! Later, I recieved a personal call from our District Manager Gloria, telling me should had bad news; that she was moving to Maryland, with her family, for a great job opportunity. I told her I was happy for her, but that I'd miss her terribly. She told me she wanted to tell me personally because we've had so much fun working together...but that she also had some worse news. The news was that our former boss Brenda, would be taking over where she left off. Ugh. This is very bad. This is very bad indeed.
The week kind of passed in a blur. Gloria drove all the way from Monroe to see me on Friday, which was her last visit. I gave her a card, with a picture of me & my boss (DJ), plus I got a picture of us together, and met one of her daughters. I gave them both hugs. I also worked with Matt on Thursday & Friday; tonight is his last night working at Hollywood, and then he's moving to Chicago; I've worked with him for 5 years. I made sure to give him a goodbye hug on Thursday. Nate, who's on vacation with Pat, will be leaving Michigan as well come July (is it?). :-0( This sucks..
Saturday was all about wanting to see the new Doctor Who. The preview for the episode, while featuring Captain Jack, kind of highlighted the lamest sections of the episode and had me worried it might suck beyond the telling of it; especially as the episode continued the arc started in the final two, outstanding Torchwood episodes, and followed a truly brilliant run of the 3 Doctor Who episodes... But I needn't have worried. The new episode (Part 3 of 5, from a certain point of view), was awesome! It was like continuity porn, or fan wank as they say. Without going into detail, the episode explained TONS of questions about Jack & his relationship to the Doctor. It also had some great flashbacks that tied a lot of stuff together, and continued the season long arc for Martha, Mr. Saxon, and in the end, just really took my breath away!!! And those 'lame' sections were merely window dressing, with not enough impact to the BIG EVENTS to drag the episode down at all! I fricking love the Whoniverse!!!!! 2 more episodes this season, plus a 10 part season of The Sarah Jane Adventures, and the 3rd Christmas Special to look forward too! Plus Season 2 of Torchwood in January, and Season 4 of Doctor Who most likely in the Spring. We're nearing the end of one chapter, and roaring towards another! I'm seriously sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
