Bald Jason's Musings
Sunday, December 7, 2008
I heard from Trevor last night. We chatted online, and then on the phone. He wasn't feeling well, but it was great to hear his voice and chat him up. I love having a new friend...and he might be more than that, but he seems to be moving in the friend direction. But he says that friends can become more. :)
I finished watching the first season of BSG last night; watching episodes: "Colonial Day", "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I" & "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II". I'm actually taking a break from BSG now to catch up on other shows, so that there's more time for the new BSG episodes to arrive. So after finishing Season 1 of BSG I watched 2 episodes of 3rd Season Ugly Betty. I fell behind on that one and I've got 4 more before I'm caught up. Then I'll move on to another show.
I had interesting dreams, and I slept very well. Another sign that it's almost time to take another half a Cymbalta zombie pill. I do love that side effect.
Mark was leaving for Sears when I woke up. He asked me to go with, but I feel like by the time I was ready the place would be closed. I feel like not moving...or moving very slowly. If I woke up ready I would have gone though. I generally loathe the mall, but I really hate it around X-mas. Yet, I can picture being there with Mark and it being kind of dreamy. Yep. Those side effects are fun.
So I got out of bed, took my Prilosec, and checked my e-mail. I followed up on several messages. Then I wrote this.

Mark spent some money at the mall; more money than he expected too, and we probably can't afford it. He picked up LC's on the way home though and it was a nice meal. I worked on my website, finishing a page of graphic photos. I looked for Trevor onlin, but no joy. He felt like he was coming down with a cold last night; I hope he's ok.
Now I'm chatting on gay.com and yahoo, with some friends.

I just watched 8 episodes of Graham Norton that I found online. I want more damn it. lol.

I was planning on driving Mark to work and going to the doctor's office to make an appointment, and also to bitch at them for doing more tests than I authorized last time - which hopefully my insurance will cover. I feel betrayed. And this was supposed to be a new start at a new doctor's office and they've already fucked it up. Ugh.
I had some stomach problems today. Terrible pain. I wish I didn't have to talk about my stomach so much. lol
I read the news. I ate. I watched 4 episodes of Ugly Betty, and I'm all caught up on that show now - one of the episodes made me cry; more than once.
I think the place I get my tv shows from is stuck. Shows I'd usually have by now aren't available yet. Oh well. It's not like I don't have stuff to watch already; I just don't want to fall behind on anything else.
Oh. Time Magazine rated BSG's "Revelations" episode (which was the finale to season 4.0) #6 in it's top episodes of the year. They also named "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" #4 on the list of top 10 Shows; Lost came in at #7; Battlestar Galactica came in at #8.

I chatted online for a bit; chatting with my friend Mark, and my ex-bf Travis - which was kind of emotional...and oddly hot. I got ready for Necto over several hours; shaving off the wretched beard, showering, getting my clean clothes out of the dryer and onto me, putting in piercings, adding accessories, and chatting all the while. I went to Necto for the last hour of the night. I had some fun, dancing and chatting with friends. But I felt a bit out of it. My nose was kind of runny, which was unexpected as I've been feeling fine. I blame Necto.
I got home safe and sound, stripped off my smoke drenched clothes and hit the shower again. I read the news. I'm going to eat. Possibly chat. Possibly watch some stuff.

Anyone wanting to see the ending of BSG who hasn't seen any of the series, or who's only seen random episodes can watch this video, but be warned that it SPOILS the whole fracking series, in a funny way. lol. Those wanting to see the new webisodes which begin airing this Friday, can view them here.

I didn't get to bed until after 4am; probably after 5am. I woke up around 1pm, with Mark. I mean, we woke at the same time. lol. And we both got ready.
I rode with Mark to work, then took the car so I could go to the Doctor's office. I wanted an appointment with doctor I'd seen previously, but she's apparently out for weeks at a time, and I don't want a doctor like that, so I just took the nearest opening (um...that sounded dirty). I now have an appointment on Monday, January 5th with Dr. Sean Kesterson. That seems like a long ways away, but it's also a month sooner than my G.I. appointment, so that's actually good news. I'm not used to seeing male doctors actually, but if I can be open with this guy maybe he can give me what I need. I need a doctor who can be ok with me being gay, and who will suggest things that might be important for my health. I need a doctor who will test me for the stuff that I want to be tested for, and clear up any fears that I have. And I need a doctor who can do that without any judgments, or phobias. My health is too important to put up with that bullshit. I've not been comfortable talking to authority figures in the past about certain issues, and I want to bury that. Hopefully my new doctor can help with that.
I also inquired about my last appointment, in which I thought I might have an STD, only I didn't and they cleared that up right away. I had this really tiny bunp on my dick, which turned out to be an irritated gland, which is apparently super common, and the're surprised I'd not had one before. But after they cleared that up, they said they could run some STD tests which I thought was a good idea; I think it's always a good idea. I asked them not to test for HIV as I'd just been tested days before for that, and I like to test anonomously. They didn't test me for HIV, but I got a call a week or two later saying that all my tests came back negative (very cool) but that my Tryglycerides were a bit high and they wanted a blood test to check that. Now, I thought that was an odd thing to pop up on an std test, but I thought they must have just caught it randomly and I gave a blood sample, not that worried about, as I've been eating a lot more chocolate than I probably should and I'd been planning on cutting back anyways. However, when I got the bill for my visit they'd tested me for a bunch of things that didn't seem to have anything to do with stds. What if my insurance doesn't cover that? I mean...it seems weird that they would say...hmm...while we're testing him for this lets just test him for EVERYTHING Else! They didn't ask my permission or let me know what was going on. The woman I talked to thought that was odd too, and a nurse is supposed to call me about the matter. Hopefully that gets cleared up.
After the doc's I went to the bank to get my grocery money. I was going to go to Meijer, but I had stopped at my other bank to deposit some change, and it was pretty dark out and all I had were my sunglasses so I just came home. But it seems wasteful to go out again when I have to pick up Mark later, so I can just go then.

I ate and chatted. I took a nap. I ate and watched the finale to the 2nd series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was kind of lackluster. Hopefully series 3 will be better. I left a voicemail for Trevor earlier and now I'm chatting with him. Killing time until I have to pick up Mark.

I chatted with Travis again, and my friend Joel. There's this guy I've been chatting with lately named Mark. He doesn't live near me at all, so obviously not the Mark I live with, but he's really fun to chat with. And we have some really hot conversations. Too bad he doesn't live closer. He doesn't even live in Michigan. Oh well.
Also got to chat with Mollie and show her my webcam, which was fun.

This just in: you can also watch the upcoming BSG webisodes on Hulu. The first installment will be released this Friday (December 12, 2008).
Mark woke me up around 10am, on accident. I wasn't particularly bothered by this, as I wasn't having the best dreams. I've now scoured the internet for all news of interest to me, and now I'm bored again. lol
I watched Sunday's episode of "Brothers and Sisters" before I went to bed this morning around 6am. It was good. It had some really nice moments.

I eventually went back to bed after the last entry and slept until 5pm. I turned on my monitor to update my website and the damned thing is fucking with me again. It's taunting me. It's doing this evil wibble wobble dance. I suppose if you were looking at the screen but not focused on what you were doing it would be interesting, but at any other time it's annoying.
I should be getting more reading done anyways. But I want my computer to be working. :0(

My monitor eventually calmed down a bit. It's still not 'right' though. Blah.
I didn't see Trevor online today, but he's been pretty sick with a cold, so he's probably been sleeping more, or drugged up. I hope he'll be ok.
Got to chat with my friend Mark again, albeit briefly. He's fun.
I actually met a bunch of new peeps online today/yesterday, which was fun. :0)

I was awake past 5am again. I woke up around 9am, from dreams that I was high school. I was stuck with this kid that I didn't like that much, who didn't like me, but he had the "Battle of the Planets" lunchbox, and I told him that I used to have that, and then I told him that I had all the books of the American verision, Robotech; that I had read them all, and that I had had a crush on one of the characters. Suddenly I was very popular with the cute geek squad, who all turned around with interest...until one of them asked what character I had a crush on, and I told them Zor Prime; a guy. lol. I went to my next class. There was some kind of madness in the hallways. My nose was running. I got kleenex. I had to take notes from the board. And I woke up.
For the record, Robotech isn't another version of Battle of the Planets. lol
Back to bed.

Just woke up again. I had fun dreams. I was part of the X-Men. lol. The cartoon. It was bizarre. And Storm was in love with (and had cubs with) Beast. Fun Fun. I slept well, obviously.
I saw this video interview with the woman who plays Starbuck on BSG and she was talking about the hardest scenes she had to play on the show, and she talked about a few, and then said that almost everything was hard in the 3 hour finale. :0)
I've also read some Doctor Who / Torchwood info. The Doctor Who Christmas Special, "The Next Doctor" airs Christmas Day (Dec 25). And while I haven't learned anything new about the special, which features some new incarnations of the Cybermen, and a possible future incarnation of the Doctor himself, I have learned that just like in the seasons, the specials will lay down the groundwork for what is to come in the final installment, which is of course, the 10th Doctor's regeneration. Russell T. Davies (who is contributing his writing to all 6 - possibly 7 upcoming specials) had this to say: "Let's just say that dark forces are gathering already. The Gate is waiting, and life will never be the same again." He also said that the Doctor may lose the Tardis for a spell: "He won't just be traveling without a companion -- he'll be without the Tardis, too.". Whoa. Really looking forward to all the upcoming Doctor Who Specials. We have this year's Christmas Special. Then on New Year's Day we have the mini-episode "Music of the Spheres", which is really just a laugh. Then we have 4 confirmed hour long specials throughout 2009 (the first one is rumored to air on Easter). And it's possible we'll get another mini-episode in November for the Children in Need special. It's also rumored that 10 will guest star in a Sarah Jane episode in her 2009 3rd Season.
Then we have the 5 part Torchwood special "Children of Earth", which director Euros Lyn has said "is about how human beings behave when they're faced with an unstoppable force, something so much bigger than they are. Some of them turn out to be heroes, and some of them turn out to be shits. I think that describes at least one of the dominant themes of these episodes. Also the love story between Captain Jack & Ianto continues to unfold, as does the story of married life for Gwen and Rhys, as Rhys' character comes into play a lot more, and he becomes almost the fourth member of the team, lagely by accident. It's hard to have perspective on it when you're right in the middle of filming, so I think I'll just say it's going to be brilliant. I think they've all done a great job in giving each episode a very distinct tone, and each one can stand on its own. Episode 1 is about the team becoming suddenly fragmented, and Episode 2 is much more of a spy thriller as they go their separate ways. Episode 3 introduces the alien threat in a big way, and Episode 4 is a huge political drama about the wider repercussions. Those are all very different story beats, and very important in their own right. Episode five, of course, has everything, and is a race to save humanity, but then, what did you expect?" - sounds awesome. 'Childre of Earth' will air sometime in 2009, but it hasn't been revealed when exactly that will be.
2 Pieces of the DCAU (D.C. Animated Universe) are about to become available, but I don't really have the cash to buy them. The webisode series 'Gotham Girls' has been out for months as an extra on the 'Birds of Prey' set; I'll have to get those someday. Then in March 2009, they'll be releasing Season 1 of The Zeta Project; a Batman Beyond spin-off, with an episode in which Batman appears; Zeta appeared in 2 Batman Beyond episodes. So I'll need to get that. That just leaves 1 more season of Zeta, 3 seasons of Static Shock, and the Lobo Webisodes to make my collection complete - but there's no word when any of these things will see the light of DVD.
The first webisode installment of BSG's "The Face of the Enemy" is released tomorrow. Yay! Which basically means we'll have new BSG (albeit in small doses at first) every week through March. :0)

I watched the first 3 episodes of BSG's 2nd Season: "Scattered", "Valley of Darkness" & "Fragged". I was trying to wait a while longer, but I just couldn't help myself.
Chatting on gay.com some more. Still no sign of Trevor. I hope he's doing better.

The new BSG Webisodes start today. And the gay content has been confirmed by multiple sources. Rock on!
I'm gonna watch the next BSG episode now ("Resistance"), then either watch more episodes, or sleep.

I'm still awake. I ended up watching 4 episodes of BSG: "Resistance", "The Farm", "Home, Part I" & "Home, Part II". I want to sleep, and I'm tired, but I can't quite seem to get there, and it's pissing me off.

I finally did get some sleep after the last entry. I woke up feeling cramped; my stomach was cramped. Mark was gone for work. I went back to sleep, in a much steeper body position as that sometimes helps. I woke up around 4:30pm. Still not a lot of sleep, but I was up and my stomach was feeling a lot better.
I watched the first new Battlestar Galactica webisode, which I couldn't be more pleased with. Then I watched it again with the writer commentary; this one by Jane Espenson who was one of Buffy's writers. You can view both versions of "The Face of the Enemy, Part I" here. The commentary was interesting as it revealed that this set of webisodes were the final pieces of BSG filmed on the BSG sets, as they were being torn down all around them - even after the post series movie "The Plan". It also talked about how these webisodes came to be and the process of pairing Gaeta with Hoshi, though they (thankfully) don't make a big deal about the gay factor AT ALL. You do have to watch a commercial before each video; the first one I watched was for Underworld 3 (or would it be Underworld 1?) and then one for car insurrance. I'm not sure when the next webisode will be posted, but last time they did this they were released every Tuesday and every Friday; 2 webisodes every week for 5 weeks. If they do that this time, then the webisodes will end 2 days before the webisodes air on Sci-Fi, and 3 days before Season 4.5 begins.

I watched the BSG episode "Flight of the Phoenix", then I chatted online for an hour or two, but I wanted to go back to sleep so I said goodbye to everyone. I slept from sometime after 9pm - about 11:30pm, when Mark got home and he woke me up. He crawled into bed with me (smelling like the bubblegum he was chewing). Most times I like a nice friendly cuddle, but right then I felt really hot, and constrained. I didn't say anything about this, though I realized that my stomach was upset again. Mark only stayed in my room for a minute anyways and left, leaving me in darkness again. I would have gone back to sleep, but my stomach is really not happy.

My stomach is already feeling better. I'm not sure what was going on there. Maybe I'm just hungry. I haven't had a real meal all day.
I just showed Mark where to watch the latest webisode, and brought him back up to speed on what is going on in BSG - which was important as he forgot the major twist ending from Season 4.0 - so now he's telling his twin brother Marcus about it, and then he'll watch the episode.
Next up for me is the 3 part story of The Pegaus. First there's the extended cut of "Pegasus" (59 minutes - the original cut of the episode ran 44 minutes), followed by "Resurrection Ship, Part I" & "Resurrection Ship, Part II". This story is huge, and DARK, and brilliant, and is later expanded on even further in the extended cut of the "Razor" telemovie episode (the orginal cut of which ran 88 minutes, while the extended dvd cut runs 101 minutes).

I watched the extended edition of "Pegasus" then took a break. I had a shake. I watched the Face of the Enemy Webisode with Mark. Then I settled in and watched "Resurrection Ship, Part I", "Resurrection Ship, Part II" & "Epiphanies". So yeah. Heavy BSG watching the last few days.
