   Sunday, April 25, 2010

Friday morning was spent at home watching LOST and chilling with Mark on his 39th birthday. We couldn't do much because of lack of funds and his recent surgery but I encouraged people to tell him happy birthday. After the nightmare that was my party last year I'm hoping to have something low key this year myself. I later went to Michael's for a visit (with Mark's approval) where we did the sex thing (yummy yet shockingly violent), watched "Avatar" (which I thought was very pretty but very predictable), and then slept very well.

Saturday (my nephew Justin's 16th birthday) we went to the Dollar store for water (which they were out of) and GameStop for a new Wii powercord. We hit Meijer for groceries and then headed home. On the way home I called Justin to wish him happy birthday and told him my memories of his birth, which he said was a great story. At Michael's we watched 'Ponyo'. I skipped out half way through to read the rest of 'Alabaster' and continue into 'Threshold'. I started reading the latter book years ago but couldn't finish it because a character that somehow reminded me of my best friend was in deadly peril and I didn't want to think about her dying. I got that friend to read the book and she's read several in the series now and it's finally time for me to catch up. I slept about 20 minutes.

Later Michael & I played Wii Super Mario Brothers to much laughter and cursing. There was a lot of tickling and playing. Later still we watched the first 4.5 episodes of 'Wolverine & the X-Men' (not including the prequel film 'Hulk vs. Wolverine' which we skipped for now) and then bed.

Woke up with a headache again but fooled around with Michael a bit. Did the farm thing. Michael & I finished the 'X-Men' episode we left off on Saturday night ("Thieve's Gambit") & watched the next one ("X-Calibre"). Michael left for work while I climbed back into bed to sort out my headache. I layed there about a half hour until my headache had passed. I made the bed, took a shower, did the dishes, packed and took out the trash. I stopped at Hillers where I got water as I'd promised Mark I would. Michael bought him the crunchy cheetos that he'd wanted while we were at Meijer the day before. I headed home.

I worked on Michael farm. I watched the news. Chatted with Mark. Watched more news. Did Michael farm again (getting him up to the next level: 73) and then had a shake while I watched the new Doctor Who ("The Time of Angels") which was pretty good, but hard to judge as it's a part I of II; I'd definitely say it's better than the last 2 episodes. The episode features the return of the Weeping Angels (from "Blink") and River Song (from "Silence in the Library" / "Forest of the Dead"). The latter character's return is a big deal for me, and this episode reminded me a lot of her first appearance in that while I enjoyed it when it aired, it was somewhat unsatisfying until Part II aired and proved that the entire story was fantastic. I'm hoping for a similar outcome here. Watched the making of the episode after that.

I'm sleepy. And my jaw hurts. I've tried to relax it the last few days. I might take a muscle relaxant later; not sure.

Oh. Also read this article about the upcoming Alien film prequels. Really hoping these rock. If they do make these 2 films that will give the original Alien movie 7 prequels and bring the series to an 11 film total:

01 Predator (1987)
02 Predator 2 (1990)
03 Alien vs. Predator (2004)
04 Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)
05 Predators (2010)
06 Alien Prequel 1 (2012)
07 Alien Prequel 2 (????)
08 Alien (1979)
09 Aliens (1986)
10 Alien 3 (1992)
11 Alien Resurrection (1997)

Hopefully the new Alien Prequels & Predators won't suck. I'd like to see more Predator films, and someday, hopefully we'll get a post 'Resurrection' Alien entry. ;-0)

Did the Facebook thing. Watched the new 'Brothers and Sisters'; 2 more episodes left this season, I think. I have the new Desperate Housewives and I'll probably watch that soon. I wonder if Michael is home from work yet?

I didn't watch Desperate Housewives last night. I chatted with Michael. I read more 'Threshold'. I slept well but woke with yet another headache. I was hoping to see Michael today but he picked up some good hours at his 2nd job and won't be free until after Midnight.

In entertainment news, Scream 4, though a self contained story, is the first in a new trilogy, which will not feature Randy back from the dead. Cary Elwes will return in Saw VII (which will be in 3D in theaters); his character hasn't been seen since the first installment and was a loose end that I'd always wanted to see again so I'm slightly interested in this, yet they fucked the intricate storyline up in Part 4 and I've not seen 5 or 6. Perhaps I'll rewatch the series when VII comes out on DVD.

They're making a film of Bret Easton Ellis's upcoming sequel to "Less Than Zero". "Less Than Zero" is one of my favorite books, and while I enjoy the movie, they are extremely different animals. In the movie, we know that Robert Downey Jr's straight character (in a movie filled with straight characters) has reached rock bottom because he's found sucking dick for drugs by the straight protagonist of the film. In the book all the characters are bisexual and instead of saving his friend from the terrible sucking of cock, he joins in by watching his friend get fucked. He also has a boyfriend (or at least a male lover) through part of the novel. And all the characters are unsympathetic...and nobody gets saved at the end. The movie has a sad ending for one character and a theme of redemption for his two best friends. I like seeing different interpretations of things though so I don't hate the movie, but it doesn't really represent the core of the book to any degree.

I have a monster migrain. I've been waking up with headaches lately. It was rainy this morning and now it's sunny. It's common for migrain sufferers to get these types of headaches when the weather is in constant flux so I'm pretty sure that's the cause.

I just noticed that with the new Marvel Universe Avengers series of movies they will have 6 films; the same number of films which the X-Men series (a Marvel property produced by a separate film studio) will have in roughly the same time period (though the Avengers films will have come out in a much shorter amount of time):

Avengers Universe Films:
01 Iron Man (2008)
02 Iron Man 2 (2010)
03 The Incredible Hulk (2008)
04 Thor (2011)
05 Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
06 The Avengers (2012)

X-Men Universe Films:
01 X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
02 Wolverine 2 (2012)
03 X-Men: First Class (2011)
04 X-Men (2000)
05 X2: X-Men United (2003)
06 X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Each of these Marvel Universes should be congratulated for the amount of stories they've been able to tell (6 for each); previous Marvel Universes have died off at 3 entries (Blade, Spider-Man). D.C. Comic Film Series have made it to 4 entries with Batman & Superman. Each of these 6 installment Marvel Universes will likely expand beyond these installments. A sequel to 'X-Men: The Last Stand' & a spin-off for Deadpool (from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine") are in the works for instance. It's also likely we'll get an Iron Man 3, and Marvel is working to do smaller films with it's lesser known characters; these films could also take place in the Avengers Universe.

Watched the 'Drawn Together Movie'; a fitting end to the series. I slept several more hours. Michael was working from 4pm to Midnight, but told me I could visit him tonight as he wasn't supposed to work until 3pm tomorrow, but now that I'm almost ready I find that he's still at work and has taken another shift in the morning. I guess he left me a message about it and that he didn't know I was coming over tonight, but I've kind of planned my whole day around it and it's not happening now. I'm irritated by everything lately, and was hoping some Michael time would soothe my spirit. Oh well.

Also, Travis turns 27 today. On my 27th birthday, Travis was my boyfriend. On my 27th bithday he sent me flowers with a card saying I was over the hill. Also...while I was ooh-ing over the flowers he sent me, Travis was sucking some other guy's dick. On my 27th birthday. The day after my 27th birthday was when my stomach freaked out for the first time...at Cedar Point...and then things got worse. Oddly, I hope he has a great birthday. You can't hold on to that shit forever and I don't...but thanks to my disturbing memory capacity it's still there.

Went to Necto. Wore fishnets. Fishnet shirt with zipper shirt over. Boots. Eyeliner. Danced to Skinny Puppy. Danced to Lady GaGa with excited goth boys which made me laugh. Had a drink (sex on the beach). Chatted with Christine & Bobby, and Christine's boyfriend Brian Tucker. Also talked to Becky & Keevan. Brian asked me if I knew Matt Laura and I told him I did and he said he knew this because he randomly saw me comment on Matt's facebook page like a year ago! He also asked how I knew him and I told him we went to school together, while Brian was apparently one of Matt's students. Funny. He thought I was a lot younger though I guess, or that Matt was a lot younger or something. I found the whole thing amusing. There was also an exchange with a VERY DRUNK guy named Peter who was gay; has a boyfriend who is working at Aut Bar; and spent a great deal of time in Germany. He hit on Bobby, and then me, and then Bobby, and then his own straight cousin Dennis who was anti-gay and Dennis and I nearly got in a fist fight! Also, Dennis (who was 24 I think) was there with his 18yo gf Courtney (who will be 19 in June) and I felt bad for her as Dennis was drunk too and was not being respectful to her at all. They were about to be thrown out (both boys were cut off by Becky) but then they left on their own. After the bar was closing there were pictures taken (not with my camera) and I got to chat more with Christine, Bobby & Brian while we hung out in the alley and then the Michigan Theater where we discussed 'Shortbus', 'All Over Me', 'The Celluloid Closet', 'Hedwig', & 'My Own Private Idaho'. I had called Michael when I'd left the bar and he'd said he'd call me right back and I was getting worried. I parted company with my friends and eventually got in touch with Michael when I got home; he was still at work though he needs to be back there in less than 5 hours!?! Looks like I won't be seeing him tonight at all. :-0( Still, I had a fun night.

Talked to Michael some more this morning. Also watched Graham Norton 7x02 which I managed to find. Read more of 'Threshold'. Slept. Woke up with a slight headache about 2:30pm, though I didn't know what time it was and wanted to get back to sleep. I lay there debating if I should get up to take Mark to Spam Stops Here to pay for his insurance but needn't have bothered as Mark came knocking on my door. He's in the shower now. I'm trying to sort out how I'm feeling and wake up a bit.

I took the trash out. I eptied and filled the dishwasher; Mark did the dishes. I did a load of laundry. Took Mark to his old work place to pay his insurance; it was nice to see his old coworker Sean, but his former employer Ted Green took Mark aside and was a complete dick to him. I should have gone with them; I strongly regret not doing so, though Mark told me not to. I would have so gone off on that man! We also went to Meijer, the bank, Kroger (where I saw former Hollywood patron Les) and Little Caears. The crazybread was yummy. I rewatched Graham Norton. I unloaded the car. I attempted a nap but couldn't sleep.

I miss Michael.

Watched 'Glee' last night; there were some amazing performances and a scene that made me cry. Also had a conversation with Michael, and a long talk / chat with Jamie Atkinson. It was mostly a fun night. Read some more 'Threshold' as well. I didn't sleep long (about 3 hours) and woke up with a HORRIBLE headache. I took some midrin but it's not kicked in yet.

The title for Doctor Who 5x08 (which we knew was being changed from "The Ground Beneath Their Feet") has been revealed as "The Hungy Earth"; I like the new title a lot more. Episode 8 is Part I of II and the 2nd part's title has been confirmed as "Cold Blood". Titles 1-9 have now been confirmed; titles for 10-13 have not been confirmed but the confirmed / working titles are as follows:

Confirmed:
5x01 The Eleventh Hour
5x02 The Beast Below
5x03 Victory of the Daleks
5x04 The Time of Angels [Part I]
5x05 Flesh and Stone [Part II]
5x06 The Vampires of Venice
5x07 Amy's Choice
5x08 The Hungry Earth [Part I]
5x09 Cold Blood [Part II]

Unconfirmed:
5x10 Vincent & the Doctor
5x11 The Lodger
5x12 The Pandorica Opens
5x13 The Big Bang

Whoa. Midrin just kicked in. It usually doesn't hit this hard when I haven't eaten. Very glad it's working.

Again. I loved 'The Eleventh Hour'. I wanted to like 'The Beast Below' but the more I see it the more the plot lines annoy me and what should have been a 3 or 4 star episode is really a 2 star episode in retrospect. 'Victory of the Daleks' had NOTHING to recommend it except that it wasn't a 2-parter; my least favorite installment of Who in ages. "The Time of Angels" is a HUGE improvement, but it's not clear if it's a classic or not as Part II will decide that, plus it's cliffhanger ending is kind of lame. I like the 11th Doctor but I don't love him, and could easily hate him, but I keep reminding myself that while I remember loving the 10th Doctor, I didn't really warm to him for 1.5 seasons and it's only in retrospect that I love him completely - so I'm giving 11 at least that long. I'm less sold on his companion, Amy. She had a great first showing, but those 2nd & 3rd episodes really dragged her down (though she came through in Episode 2 a bit); I'm getting the impression that she won't be around after this season though, which would be fine with me...but even if she sticks around, perhaps I'll grow to love her? It's just hard when a season of Who is so short (they tend to be 13-15 episodes long) and 2 of the episodes have already mostly sucked; makes me nervous for the rest of the season. This is kind of the reverse of the 9th Doctor, who's first installment didn't thrill me the first time around, but I loved his 2nd & 3rd and wasn't sure about his 4th (which was also a 2 parter). Hmmmm.

It also appears that 11 appears in episodes 5&6 of Sarah Jane Season 4, which could cause quite a bit of havoc for me...but I'm sure I'll find some sort of order that works. lol I've also heard that the mechanical men in black from Doctor Who's 'Dreamland' will be appearing in SJA 4x03-4x04! Awesome if true! :-0)

Going back to bed.

Woke up with headache gone at around 3:45pm. There was a message on my phone from Michael saying he'd be off work between 6pm & 8pm. Cool. But now he's taken another shift at 8am (he was gonna go to work tomorrow at 3pm) which cuts into our time together A LOT as now he'll have to go to bed early to get up early. Ugh. This is the 3rd time this week that my plans to see him have been cut off...all based on something he tells me and then suddenly my time is taken away. I love that he loves his new job; I do. And I understand that I'm not going to be seeing him as often as I did for awhile, but having my expectations crushed like this is really hurting me. I've been planning things out based on the information I was given and now things I could have done are impossible.

I meant to post this link earlier; it's a cool story about the read-through of the upcoming Sarah Jane episodes that will bring back both Jo Grant (a companion to the 3rd Doctor) and the 11th Doctor.

One really good thing that's happened this week is I've found a sunblock that I really like, which (assuming it works out well) I can easily apply and not worry about the sun. That would be nice. I'm hoping for the best with that. That could change the entire course of my summer. Also, just like with my eating disorder last summer, I'm trying to get away from the self hatred with my delicate skin. Everyone should be wearing sunblock anyways, and I just need to embrace that this is something I have to do instead of moping around about it. Easier said than done, but I'm trying. It's hard to not be down on yourself when there's SO MUCH wrong or different about you, but I just want my life to be better than that.

I'm choosing to not be upset about Michael's change in plans, despite the fact that I could have said no to doing any number of things tomorrow with other people because I was going to be spending that time with him, and that I infact had something planned for tomorrow with him that won't be happening now. I just need to communicate to him that in the future I need for him to tell me when he's available and stick to it - or I need to not be taking his word so seriously (an option I don't like as we were doing pretty well in the trust department lately - a huge hurdle for us) - or maybe we just shouldn't be planning things right now. I don't know what the answer is. I just don't want to be upset all the time, and I'm just not going to be. :-0)

Showered and shaved. Worked on Michael's Farm Town; got him to level 74; 6 more and we'll be on the same level (though I'll have a massive lead in XP, which makes me think I'll be jumping to whatever level they + next). Michael is still at work. I'm getting ready; packing and stuff.

Made it out to Michael's before he arrived. I made his bed; straightened his living room; opened the blinds and washed his dishes. When he arrived home we hugged and talked while he did his bills and stuff. I got a few pictures. Later we watched more Wolverine & the X-Men. We played more Wii Super Mario Brothers and went to bed. I read a bit of 'Threshold' before trying to get to sleep, which took a long while. I slept well when I did get to sleep. Michael got up early for work as I drifted in & out; I remember him getting up, a bit of him showering, brushing his teeth and kissing me goodbye. I slept until around 11:30am. I worked on Michael's farm. I did his dishes, made the bed, and then came home where I worked on the farms again and spoke to Michael & Mark before going back to bed (I'd taken a muscle relaxer for my jaw). I was woken from nightmares by the phone; Michael had called to tell me he hours which I don't really remember now. lol. I slept more with better dreams, got up, showed Mark some Glee highlights, did more farming (while having my shake / toast combo) and then wrote this.

They've just updated Farm Town again today. Here are some of the new & newer stuff:

I'm trying to hurry this up; Mark has stuff he wants to install on my computer. I just need to harvest & plant my 2nd farm & Michael's farms (which are all at 99%) and I'll be done for now.

I've harvested, plowed and planted 2 of Michael's farms; just planting 2 hour stuff on his so I can get his levels up...hoping to have him on level 76 tonight (just 4 less than me). I'm harvesting his 3rd farm now. Also working on an update of the above list which shows which items can be sold without worrying that you need them for something else (which will probably change as soon as I'm done with the list! lol).

More rumors about Sarah Jane. It's unknown if these rumors are true, but I believe there is at least SOME truth to them. The rumors are that Luke Smith & K-9 Mark IV will both be leaving the series in the 2nd story of the season (4x03 The Nightmare Man, Part I & 4x04 The Nightmare Man, Part II) and that both character will therefor be absent from the following story which will feature the Eleventh Doctor and Jo Grant. If Luke & K-9 Mark IV do leave in those episodes (and I have very little doubt that they are indeed leaving the series at some point) then those episodes should prove memorible. I'm slightly worried that Season 4 will mirror Season 3, which surprised me with 3 good / great stories right out of the gate (the 3rd of which featured the 10th Doctor and the Trixter) but were followed by 2 mediocre stories and horrible finale. Hopefully this will be avoided. There are also rumors that I have less faith in, such as a return of Eldrad (the villain from Sarah Jane's final 4th Doctor story "The Hand of Fear"). Still no word on why Amy Pond isn't in the episode, but I'm thinking (and almost hoping at this point) that she's just not sticking around past this season.

Did the Farm Town thing all morning. I've got Michael on level 78; 2 more to go. Hoping to have him at least on 79 tonight. Also watched an obscene amount of 'Chelsea Lately'; a talk show that I found randomly and then downloaded over a dozen episodes of. It's the first American tv talk show that I've seen and loved in I don't know how long. I also have the new Graham Norton to watch though I haven't yet.

Michael's not feeling well and thinks he has an ear infection and possibly a cold. He's at work. I hope he feels better.

I feel like staying inside. I feel like just chilling inside and not doing much. Some days when that happens I feel it's a waste, but today (like a lot of days recently) my stomach is not dealing well with food and I just want to hide away...and I'm ok with that for now.
