Got Michael to level 80 in Farm Town. Done. Finished. On the same level now.
Michael is sick. Mark sounds and feels sick, so probably is. I feel...ok. If I'm coming down with something, as I thought I might be, it's not as bad as what they have, yet. I guess Mollie is sick too. Ugh. Hopefully we'll all feel better soon.
Just watched the new Doctor Who. I was really hoping I'd love this episode, only I really didn't. To review the season thus far...
5x01 The Eleventh Hour ****
A great (but not perfect) continuation of the great (but not perfect) End of Time story, which I think is a great beginning with less than stellar special effects, but it manages to introduce a new Doctor, a new companion, several new recurring characters, a new TARDIS, a new Sonic Screwdriver, a new theme song / credits sequence / logo - and all without sucking. Pretty impressive.
5x02 The Beast Below **
An episode that clearly has the making of an average to great episode yet is undermined by sloppy editing & writing that leaves huge plot holes almost everywhere (plus there's this really annoying scene where a character spells out the meaning of what they just said for those too stupid to get it the first time).
5x03 Victory of the Daleks *
Crap. It's just crap. The Daleks have new colors. Who cares? And the trap they've set for the doctor is a robot who's a bomb who can't be detonated because he believes he's human? How stupid is this? I would have enjoyed this episode so much more if they'd just had the balls to let the guy blow up but a mediocre episode lost all credibility in that scene and became nearly unwatchable.
5x04 The Time of Angels [Part I] **
5x05 Flesh and Stone [Part II] **
The Weeping Angels are back only this time they have some really lame powers which were never mentioned before and a pointless storyline that makes no sense. River Song is back as well and her appearance does improve the episodes, but she's stuck in this crappy story - which does have moments that are pretty good, but it's all dragged down by nonsense. The season story arc involving the buttcrack of the universe would be cool except it's strung along through these not very good episodes. I'm hoping the series gets better, but 4 of these episodes were written by Steven Moffat (who had previously written only 5 star material) and so I'm losing faith in the series to pull out of this mess.
