RINGING OF TRAINS
Telephone singing
& someone is calling
but not any one
& not someone real human
but a computer chip
whack off
saying service is off
& it's time to pay
the electronic piper.
No surprise really,
though it's kind of annoying
& little do I know
of this payment plan
cloying
into each & every
crevice of life
lived in box car
of train way to girls
named Beth & boys
named Seth & all
of this on the way
to our deaths.
Trains have their history...
Trains are a mystery...
Trains haunt our dreams
& will have their dread victory -
Trains are not ringing...
Some trains are sinking...
Trains are submerged...
& they know what we're thinking.
