DEFIANT
He was kind
& had sniffles
from a girl that he had kissed...
He was blind
& he was smiling
never knowing what he'd missed...
He found clarity
from our meeting
I don't claim to understand...
But he was sweet
& he was neat;
he said goodbye & shook my hand.
He was whimsical
spontanious
& searched for something lost...
He was searching for an answer
but unwilling to pay the cost...
Though if his smile was real
& if that's how he really feels...
then who am I to question?
But I'm only suspicious -
That boy looked delicious -
Was he lost within his regression?
I may never know...
I may never see him...
I may never find my own answers.
Though Defiant was he...
He rode next to me...
Two rhabdomancers
devining the key;
The key to our hearts
& the key to our souls...
The key we must have
if we are to hold.
