FORGETTING JOHN CRISPINO
He remembered me
& the words that I wrote...
Remembered the kiss
& the feel of my throat...
Remembered me always
while I had misplaced him...
Guilty as charged -
My mind did displace him.
But I know him now -
What he was & is...
Remember the man -
Remember his kiss -
He was but a shadow
to what he's become -
Not everyone's smile
makes me come undone.
But that's just what he did
before he walked away -
He wasn't with me -
I forgot -
Now I pay...
Poetic justice?
Maybe so...
I'll concede -
Justice is served -
What I got - I deserved...
And he'll haunt my thoughts
until I am freed.
