THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM

We met late September...

Went out shortly after...

But the connection we made

brought only disaster

because I was a wreck

in love with a fiend -

Was madness & misery

& what lay between...

Was not even healed -

Not ready to yield -

Could then risk not harm -

But now third time's the charm.

Last night I feared that

I'd make mistakes -

But nothing that followed -

Not a thing could have swallowed

the soul I've become

since last love's heartbreaks...

For last night we kissed

in more ways than one...

Last night was beautiful &

Last night was fun.

Third night together -

yet only the first...

First night I saw him

that I was not cursed...

First night we fucked

in the smiles of night life...

The smiles were welcomed;

I was left humbled;

And still hours after -

I lead a charmed life.
