CRYING FOR LAUGHTER

Hey to you two
reading this
after this...

I try to forget
but I'm grateful
for this...

Hey, can't I change?

For the wind is so frightening
and the air trembles strange
but I think that it's smiling...

My number's not up...
My number's just dialing...

But I still want to change...
I still try to change.

And when I can't look away
and the kiss comes again...

And I'm there in his arms,
in the arms of my friend...

I know that I've changed
because the wounds have all healed...

I know that I've changed
for my fate is not sealed...

I know that I've changed
as I laugh through the tears...

Though my memory stays
and I'm still so afraid...

I can still try to change
as I age through the years.

- for all my friends and family -
who witness my struggle...

- and for Jeremy -
who's friendship has changed me
in ways he may never understand.
