FIREWORK FLOWERS

I was reading this morning

when an image of you...

Invaded my thoughts

and my smile grew...

For while I was afraid

to let people in...

The smiles we've shared

have let me begin...

To know that some things

are worth more than doubt...

I kept myself trapped

when I kept people out...

You freed me in ways

that are hard to be measured...

You see me in ways

that I've learned should be treasured...

And that's what you are

and always will be...

I'll always remember

the good that I see...

I'll always remember

the firework flowers...

The way that you kissed

and then held me for hours...

The way that your voice turns

to make me smile too...

And my firework flowers,

I give them to you.
