HUNGER
I know a man
who is younger than most,

who is only a ghost,
I know a man
who is trapped in the cycle
of want & of need -
who fears being stifled.
I know a man
who deserves so much more,
I know a man
who is more than a whore,
I know a man
who's mind is a puzzle
that leaves him in knots;
bereft & befuddled.
This man that I know
that I will always love,
This crazy guy
who survives in spite of
the doubts and the struggle
that make him seem younger...
This hero at heart
is a victim of hunger.
