IF LOOKS COULD KILL

The first time I saw you;
that look in your eyes...

I thought you might kill
with the sweetest of sighs...

But you said that's
only the way that you are...

You aren't a killer
although you have scars.

I know men are bruised
by truth & by taunting...

Truth is your smile
is what left me wanting...

Your honest answers;
emotions you shared...

The change in your eyes
and I wasn't prepared...

Your sweet transformation
was so unexpected...

Your look could not kill
what your smile erected.
