SHELTER

When you crawled
into bed with me...

Naked,
Undressed with me...

Together in dreams
shared in my night light dark...

With phantom hands touching
and none of us blushing...

We sheltered each other
though we left no mark.

The touching,
was touching,
The nakedness: bliss...

The quiet conversing...
A dream and a kiss...

But dreams have to end,
and I woke up without you...

But the smell of the sheets
left me no doubt about you...

Remember our dream
when you need something warm...

Just sneak in my room,
Strip down in the gloom...

And I'll give you shelter
from waking world's storm.
