WHEN FLASHLIGHTS FOUND US
When flashlights found us
we were entangled
in naked woodland frenzy
just off the crossroads...
At a crossroads ourselves.
You could see the sideway steeple
of a big red barn,
though the fairy light magic,
Elvin moon glow of leaves & trees
bathed the world in green.
Broken glass surrounded us
though foliage cushioned our knees
as we tongued assholes,
pinched nipples,
and splattered each other
with multiple fluids.
Our Eden was burned away
by the harsh redneck flashlights
that surrounded, engulfed, devoured us,
only moments after we devoured one another.
Our lives spent pressed together
as often as possible in homosexual lust,
were about to be taken from us
for the very act that we craved and enacted...
But we didn't know that.
If we had known...
We would have died with heads held high...
We wouldn't have changed a single moment...
Would not erase a single man to man kiss...
Our lust seemed so brave
but it couldn't quite save us...
Our love made them fear
that they might want to crave us...
And so they converged there
to trap and surround us...
They were afraid
when their dark flashlights found us.
