FRIENDS TO STRANGERS
For years we were strangers
with lust in our eyes...
Then May of Oh-Six
came with utter surprise...
And there we connected
as friends & as brothers...
Before the night ended
we also were lovers...
The sex was fantastic;
the knowing was better...
I thought the sex fleeting;
the friendship forever...
But silence between us
(for months now) keeps growing...
And we have no time
and we've lost the knowing...
But I keep on dreaming
the silence will fade...
And I keep believing
although I'm afraid...
For what wrought these dangers?
What kind of disaster...
Reverts friends to strangers
only months after laughter.
