WASTE OF TIME
The boy who couldn't
or wouldn't tell time
couldn't bother
to tell me the reason
or crime
prevented him
seeing me
after he called
hours of waiting
found speechless
and sprawled
for a world filled with others
but no word for me...
I'd figured he'd lied
and I knew of his greed...
But I didn't expect
that I'd find him unwilling
to answer my questions...
left unfulfilling the promise he'd made
in words and in flesh...
the idea of us
spent in song & in text...
Why all the trouble
to be coupled
alone?
Why not a message
to tell me he's home?
Was it all just a game
and if so then who won?
I never held back
and I know I had fun...
I know how he tasted;
I wasted nothing...
And though it was brief
I shared with him something...
And nothing was lost
in spite of his crime...
Except he's alone
and he could have been mine...
But I won't be his fool;
and perhaps I did win...
For I have lost nothing
by letting him in.

who could find a good guy
