A SACRIFICE OF MAGIC
Walking down sidewalk
through downtown in rain -
No moon & no stars
to share his cold scars -
The light in his eyes;
the sweet chill of pain.
The man close to nothing
can never be touched -
Not even in genesis;
nor when we shared our kiss -
The Magician has power
but it doesn't mean much.
For only surrender
can match magic's price -
In a moment of freedom;
the magic between them -
The meeting of equals is worth such a sacrifice.
The man was forgiving...
The death of the living...
The damnation redemption in the dream I dreamed twice.
