BOR: THE CHLDREN THAT I HAVE KNOWN

     ----------------are------------------

                 CHILDREN NO MORE

The Children of this world are few and far between,

Few are even heard of and less are ever seen,

But They'll be there in the moment that you feel you're most alone,

Now let me tell you a thing or two about The Children That I Have Known.

The Children That I Have Known are all soldiers of a kind,

And the war that's waged against Them is beyond your fertile mind,

But They've made it through together and as a unit They are secure,

And They stand as one united so that The Children may ENDURE.

The Children That I Have Known are like a beacon in the night,

Whey you're lost in all the gloom They lend a hand and give you light,

They understand your anger, your sorrow, and your grief,

And when your tears return Thier sympathy provides relief.

The Children That I Have Known are closer friends then you conceive,

Bound by common pasts We are more loyal than you'd believe,

For as Our wounds were healing Our relationships also grew,

And I came to understand that I am one of The Children too.

But all good things must end and so must Childhood as well,

And I've heard Children come and go and heard the ringing bells,

And though I'm happy that They're growing a sudden sadness makes me cry,

For as They turn Their backs on Childhood I am forced to say: "Good-Bye".

But even with this sorrow We The Children carry on,

Taking Our Childhood to the limits in an epic marathon,

And the cycle will continue until The Last walks though the door,

And discovers that The Children are NOT Children any more.
