BUTTERFLY LIES
She smiles behind that curtain
of silken spider curses &
infinite insect eyes so close to our skin,
with their scrape, scrape kisses.
She spreads & sings hush hush
whispers on our lives of transparent
beauty & our dreams of demonic
devastation.
She is nothing more than what she seems -
or that's what she whistles as she dives
in for the killing & bloodshed that will
feed her brood of wingless souless
hungering mouths.
But her eyes are so filled with life...
As her lies twist & turn the knife...
That we smile & say what she always remembers;
this springtime of feeding...
this screamtime of bleeding...
this brutal experience
as our Innocence surrenders.

Who beneath all the silk & shine of her beautiful wings -
hides a truly repugnant insect of the lowest order.
