THE COOL RAINS OF EDEN

I walk down the street

in the cool breeze of dusk...

Nothing left now

save this empty flesh husk...

Nothing remains of my friends

but my memories...

And those are cold comfort

when I'm lost in the freeze.

And though I'm soon sheened

with ice & with snow...

I long for the sky to weep

& I know

that somewhere it's raining

for a convict & a liar...

Somewhere it's raining

though Eden's on fire...

Somewhere it's raining

though I'm lost in the snow...

Is it raining for Maggie?

I may never know...

For that was a lifetime ago;

that cool rain...

I remember it chilled our

laughter & pain...

That insanity of ours

as the rains moved towards Swedon...

Those are the rains now required in Eden.

- For Maggie -

You rembember the rain, don't you?
