DANCING WITH TRAVIS
PART II: THE DREAM
I was high school outsider -
at the dance I'd been waiting...
Only days after seeing him
& then masturbating...
That red headed boy who obsessed & affected me...
Boy who in my thoughts would select & undress me...
Boy who's friends would pick me apart...
Boy who I noticed there right from the start.
And then he is there with his friends all around him...
Then I walk to him before fear can confound him...
All I say is "Hey."...as his friends laugh & glare...
He looks like he'll bolt but he just stands there & stares...
And I know I was wrong to think he might care.
I turn & I leave & I leave them behind...
Outside the school I scream -
but I find...
That Travis has followed me into the night -
Travis has found me -
Travis would fight -
For the chance to be with me -
To dance with me still...
We dance without dancing -
Just stand there until -
The fire within us erupts into this...
The swaying of bodiies...
Our first hot queer kiss.
