DROWNING IN SILENCE

The beauty sleeping downstairs;

she freed me...

The boy doesn't seem to want

(or to need) me...

The friend of my heart -

always he feeds me...

The sweet sounds of suffering...

In the silence that bleeds me.

The music I beg for;

the sounds of his voices...

The din of the doubting -

questioning choices...

Why would I ask to be drowned in such noises?

The cure for the hearts of these lost lonely boys is

only to be found in the blissfully medicated...

no matter the depth of the love or how dedicated...

the answer so bleak that I fight to refuse it:

If I don't ever hold him -

then I may well yet lose it.
