MOLLIE MEMORY
We walked down the road
past killer insects the size of fists
with strong resemblence to winged
scorpions...
We wandered passed children
hording sewage for themselves
while glaring at us both as we walked on
by & spoke quietly about how sad
it was that this was their fun in the sun
weekday afternoon.
We dared the high voltage to trip
down rocky embankment as we eyed the fishermen
out among the seemingly high water
rapids of little or no importance
before crossing the bridge that
sailors passed beneath.
We passed under trains & men who
saw us having simple happy times
before we turned the corner towards
home & our journey came to an end.
A magic memory for Mollie & me
that I write about while Janis Joplin
sings to me about Bobby McGee &
reminding me of Trevor & his humble
beginnings.
Trevor would have walked with us if he could;
We're his kind of people;
Mollie & Me.
