THE SCARECROW MAN
The Man Who Appeared On A Night Like Today,
The Man Who Could Never A Crow Scare Away,
The Man Who Resembled What An Actor Became,
That Scarecrow Man...From New Orleans Came.
The Darkness Was Heavy But His Smile Was Bright,
His Clothing Well Worn And His Speach Not Quite Right,
But His Voice Was A Mixture Of Honey And Incence,
Arousing My Interrest With His Silent Insistance.
His Innocent Flavor Was Alive And Intact,
His Eyes Made It Hard And Then Hard To React,
Lulled By His Cajun Blood Lust Driven Drawl,
Amazing That I Spoke A Sentence At All.
But The Scarecrow Man...He Was Hungry To Roam,
Thirsty For Pleasure Known Only At Home,
That's What I Read In His Eyes On That Night,
The Last Time I Saw Him...That Memory Is Bright.
I Drove Him To His Place And He Held My Eyes,
Somehow We Both Knew And Said Our Goodbyes,
And Just When I Thought That This Must Be The End,
He Leaned In And Kissed Me Like I Was His Friend.
The Flash Of Car Headlights! The Cigarrette Flavor!
The Lust And The Taste Of His Spit I Did Savor!
We Kissed So Much Meaning That We Didn't Say!
It Was Given For Free...
That Smile For Me...
The Glisten Of Teeth...
And Then He Ran Away!
I Never Saw Him...
Not After That Night,
For They Say That He Stole Away At First Light,
They Say He Was Wrong And A Bastard For This,
But I Dream That I Am...
Back With That Scarecrow Man...
Still Saying Goodbye...
In That Scream Of A Kiss.
