SEA CHANGE
Boy I knew...
Girl I loved...
Man I worshiped...
Satin gloves...
Goddess & brother...
One to another...
Father & Mother.
He was all I desired
but he was never real...
She was born male
& she could never heal
what the toxin of birth
had made of her soul...
He was a dream gone
out of control...
He was her nightmare
though he was my prince...
I know she was right
because she has convinced me
that no other option was worth
all this living -
I see her smile & I stand forgiving
for all that he was is now there
in her smiles...
The images mesh with all that he was...
Because he was all
the world's denials
made flesh.
