SLAVE TO FREEDOM

Summer sun drifting down

across boy stumbling over

deep fresh grass water that

cools & curls between his toes.

The cricket sprinkler hum of

in sex summer sound effects

sooths & saddens boy's hard

& heaving smiling complexity.

Boy looks down with inner rumblings

wonderings fumblings running away

without ever moving soothing sound

affects him; crumbling.

Tears well up & out for boys untouched

& boys unknown unloved unreachable

run down across his boyish face;

melding man with frozen child.

The sunshine glare -

He's frozen there -

This drumming hardon -

This boy who cares

for more than what he can express -

Can not confess

or understand what drives him on -

Can not caress

Till this day's gone.
