WAXING POETIC

Oh what mystery of flesh

& of bone...

Oh what desire lies beyond

hearth & home...

Oh what a drama &

Oh what a curse...

 

That such beauty & age;

enjoined in the cage

of that man's warm gaze,

may quicken my thirst.

 

But still...

Oh what a daydream &

Oh what a treasure...

 

That in this world of soil;

within this mortal coil;

to be his trick & foil

can provide us this pleasure.
