WAXING POETIC
Oh what mystery of flesh
& of bone...
Oh what desire lies beyond
hearth & home...
Oh what a drama &
Oh what a curse...
That such beauty & age;
enjoined in the cage
of that man's warm gaze,
may quicken my thirst.
But still...
Oh what a daydream &
Oh what a treasure...
That in this world of soil;
within this mortal coil;
to be his trick & foil
can provide us this pleasure.
