WHERE THE RAIN IS
Standing on the street corner
with black smeared & eyes
brimed with loss...
Running through the vacant
lot with pearls of sunlight dripping
down...
The shimmer turns the day to night -
Only for a moment -
Only for this woman -
Only for a heartbeat is she lost as she craves.
But where is the outburst that the sky should
be bringing?
Where is the thunder to stifle this singing?
Where is the proof? The cure for this pain?
Why aren't her tears being washed by the rain?
She runs on & on -
'Til the sunlight is gone -
& alone in the dark -
She's awash in her pain.
