News For Sarah Jane Adventures - Season 4:
It's said the Slitheen/Balthereen will be back in a minor role.
They are filming all of Season 4 & part of Season 5 (18 episodes); this is believed to help with continuity of the kids growing up...or possibly (and more likely) a cover story for filming of a SJA Special which we KNOW they are making!!!
The SJA gang will travel to their first alien world, take a dangerous journey back into history, but most of the series will still be rooted in Bannerman Road and modern day London. The trip back in time will NOT be a Trickster story.
The finale will a "storming, emotionally-charged adventure. I wouldn't say 'Armageddon', but it's full-blooded and dramatic, to show that children's television can be like that. We asked the director to pretend it was the last one ever! So it's got a sort of doom-y feel to it."
Filming began March 29, 2010 and should end the week beginning Monday, July 26, 2010.
The 4th Season will air in Fall 2010.
A series 5 has already been ordered and will most likely air in Fall 2011.

Does The Trickster return here?
digitalspy in an interview with Gareth:
You've also been heavily involved with The Sarah Jane Adventures since its inception. Can you tell us anything about your contributions to season 4?
"I can tease you a couple of things, yes. I've written one story which is quite
unusual and that's got some amazing monsters in it. We don't have a very big
budget on Sarah Jane and when I saw these creatures, I was amazed. Neil
Gorton and his monster-making team have excelled themselves. The other one,
which is the series finale, I've co-written with Clayton Hickman, former editor
of Doctor Who Magazine. They're filming it now and it's a storming,
emotionally-charged adventure. I wouldn't say "Armageddon", but it's
full-blooded and dramatic, to show that children's television can be like that.
We asked to the director to pretend it was the last one ever! So it's got a sort
of doom-y feel to it."
