A FRIEND IN NEED, PART II

I thought I would write something on the death of Xena - which seems to have the entire Xena fanbase in an uproar; something I just don't understand.  My friend Mark won't ever watch the final episode so he can pretend that Xena & Gabrielle lived happily ever after!?!  Xena & Gabrielle have been together for 6 long, full years - that's a lot more than many of us ever get.  Their ending was beautiful & tragic &...it feels right. 

It's not like this is the end of Xena or Gabrielle's relationship.

Xena & Gabrielle will always be a part of each other.  Gabrielle will move on & have children.  Xena & Gabrielle's descendents will end up together, as seen in "The Xena Scrolls."  Xena & Gabrielle will be reincarnated & come together many times, as revealed in "Between The Lines".  Xena & Gabrielle's spirits will end up together in their present incarnations - looking much the same way as they did in their 6 years together, as seen in "Deja Vu All Over Again" & "Soul Possession".  And clones of Xena & Gabrielle will live happily ever after in the present as well.

Nothing can keep these two apart...  but everyone dies & Xena died in a way, befitting of her character.  She died while righting the last wrong from her past...  ending her six year quest of redemption.

Many people influenced Xena on her road of redemption but Gabrielle was her partner, her savior, her light, her love.

Xena influenced Gabrielle as well, of course...  And we watched the most intense years of their lives together...  But people have to grow on their own as well.

I myself, would have felt cheated if Xena had not died in this final(?) episode... 

And I salute the writers for having the courage to see us through this emotional & fitting end to The Warrior Princess.
