With the exception of "Star Trek: First Contact", the Next Generation feature film installments have been less than stellar.  "Generations" had moments and was wonderfully directed; "Insurrection" was little more than a tv episode with little to no real importance; "Nemesis" was a good attempt to get things back on track, and would undoubtedly have led to further sequels had it not opened a week after "The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers"; as it was it bombed at the box office, ensuring the demise of the series.  "Star Trek: First Contact", however, remains as a testament to the quality of which Next Generation was capable.  "First Contact" is also notable as the only Trek feature to involve elements from every Trek Series: "Enterprise" (Zephram Cochrane, The Borg, The Vulcans), "Star Trek" (Zephram Cochrane), "Next Generation" (duh), "Deep Space Nine" (Worf & the Defiant - the latter used against the Borg as it was intended), & "Voyager" (The Enterprise-E's Emergency Medical Hologram).  As such, it is perhaps the best example (given by the feature film series) of what makes Star Trek work, and is 2nd only to "Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan" in quality & depth.
