This Star Trek Duology written by Fantastic Trek author KRAD, is built on the premise of pairing our well known Trek crews with Captains & ships seen throughout the different Treks; seeing our characters through new eyes; they're pretty cool.  Here are some notes I took for you while I was reading the books.  I didn't finish my notes from Part III onward, but I'll get around to it soon.  But this should get you started out proper.

The Brave & The Bold - Book One

Enterprise - Prelude: Discovery 2151 [17 pages]

This brief intro takes place between Enterprise episodes 7 "The Andorian Incident" & 8 "Breaking The Ice".  The story makes reference to the life threatening Class M planet experience in episode 4 "Strange New World" & the Axanar who were featured in episode 3 "Fight or Flight".

It was fun "seeing" a new/old episode of Enterprise, even if it was only a brief intro into the rest of the stories.

Star Trek - Part I: The First Artifact 2266 [123 pages]

This section takes place between Classic Trek episodes 8 "Charlie X" & 9 "Balance of Terror".  This section focuses on two Captains & 2 Crews; the crew of the Starship Enterprise NCC-1701 under command of James T. Kirk, and the Starship Constellation under command of Commodore Matthew Decker, who was introduced in the Classic Trek episode: "The Doomsday Machine" (episode 36 - in 2267).   This story introduces his son Willard Decker, who is featured in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" - 2271.  Other important references include the planet Narendra III which was where the Enterprise C was destroyed by Romulans in defense of a Klingon outpost [“Yesterday’s Enterprise”].  The planet Capella IV is where Admiral Akaar is born, which is witnessed by Kirk in “Yesterday’s Child”.  Kirk’s dissatisfaction with the No Win Situation & his Kobayashi Maru solution are both well documented in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”.

First Interlude 2267 [2 pages - but really only 1 full page of info]

The first interlude takes place just after the Classic Trek episode "The Doomsday Machine".

Deep Space Nine - Part II: The 2nd Artifact 2370 [115 pages]

This section takes place between the DS9 episodes 45 "Tribunal" & 46 "The Jem'Hadar".  The U.S.S. Fearless was featured to some degree in the Next Gen episode “Where No One Has Gone Before”.  The Bajoran terrorist Orta, and references to events of ‘2 years ago’ happened in the 5th Season Next Gen episode “Ensign Ro” which introduced Ro and the Bajoran people – a classic!  Cal Hudson & the Maquis were introduced in the 2nd Season DS9 2-parter “The Maquis, Parts I & II”; the treaty that affected them was featured in the Next Gen 7th Season episode: “Journey’s End”.  The “Kohn-Ma” were featured in DS9’s 3rd ever episode, “Past Prologue” – which featured Lursa & B’etor, along with introducing a Cardassian tailor, name of GARAK!  The business with the Circle happened in the opening 3 parter of Season 2: “The Homecoming”, “The Circle” & “The Siege”, though the seeds of that story were planted in the previous two installments: “Duet” & “In The Hands of The Prophets”.

Second Interlude 2370 [2 pages - but really only 1 full page of info]

The second interlude takes place just after the DS9 2nd Season finale (episode #46): "The Jem'Hadar".

The Brave & The Bold - Book Two

Voyager – Part III: The 3rd Artifact 2371 [136 pages]

CHARACTERS:

SESKA

This section takes place just after the DS9 season 3 opening 2-parter “The Search” – before the episode “The House of Quark” – about 4 or 5 months after “The Jem’Hadar”.  This "Voyager" story is actually set before Voyager was lost in the Delta Quadrant, and features almost all of the Maquis that we have come to know over the years

This story also takes place just before the Star Trek: The Next Generation novel Double Helix Book 4: Quarantine – which tells the tale of how Tom Riker (Will Riker’s double from “Second Chances”) joins the Maquis.
