Bald Jason's Musings

Ok. I just read some good NON-Spoiler BSG related news, which is that the prequel series "Caprica" has been greenlit. The pilot has been finished for some time I believe, but it was thought that this would air and then the series would be made or broken based on ratings for that movie. The writers has spoken out against this, saying that it needed a full season to give people an idea of what the series truly was, but I didn't expect them to get their wish and was content to just get the Caprica pilot episode as a kind of special feature for my BSG collection. Now it looks like we'll be getting more than just that small taste, and I'm thrilled about that. It might suck. I'm not saying that it's going to kick ass, but I trust these writers.
The next thing I read, which I actually read first, is a SPOILER concerning the series of 'webisodes' set between the 4.0 and 4.5 - which will be posted online 2 per week for 5 weeks, then debut on television the night before the final 10 episodes of Season 4 begin their run. I will provide SPOILER space for the this information, which has NOT been confirmed...and which does NOT pertain to the final Cylon, but to 2 somewhat background characters. 1 has been with the show since the beginning, and has been a major player in the show, but I've never considered them a main character - the other I couldn't pick out of a crowd. If you want to read the unconfirmed spoiler, scroll down.

SpoilerIt's rumored that in the upcoming webisodes (this set is titled "The Face of the Enemy"), that it will be revealed that Felix Gaeta is gay, and that he may share a kiss with Hoshi, a former officer of the Battlestar Pegasus. For all the horrible things that happened on Pegasus, it seems to have been the GAY Battlestar. :0) I really hope this is true, as I've thought of Gaeta as gay since the get go. The webisodes will start being posted, 2 a week, December 12.
Places I read this rumor include:
http://galcticasitrep.blagspot.comThe official description of the 10 webisode series is that they tell a story that takes place between seasons 4.0 and 4.5 of Battlestar and follow Lt. Gaeta when he is sent off in a Raptor with a handful of strangers and one of them mysteriously dies. The psychological human-vs.-Cylon struggle is played out in the restrictive confines of a Raptor as everyone is a suspect, and paranoia sets in among the group. Grace Park (The Sharons / 8's) & Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh) also star.
BSG should finish it's run on March 20, 2009. Followed later in the summer by the tv movie "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan". The Caprica series is said to begin shooting in 2009 for a 2010 airing.
All this news reminds me that I'd planned on rewatching all of BSG before Season 4 begins, which gives me a little over 6 weeks to watch like 68 episodes. I probably won't do it though. I might start watching the old ones when the new series starts and try to get done before the last episode airs; that would be kind of cool. We'll see. Maybe I'll wait until the whole damned thing is done. lol. I don't know.
I'm listening to the soundtack to Season 3, which I just got. I love soundtracks.
