Bald Jason's Musings

I took a nap after the last entry; had a nightmare about my sister Janice; nothing in it was scary per say, but it inspired some dread. I woke up right before DJ texted me; we chatted a bit as friends do, then I texted Michael, and got a voicemail from my mom; Jamie's leg has some unforseen problems and she'll be having surgery on Tuesday, though they don't know when yet. I called mom up and talked to her about it; Janice was there so I talked to her about my dream and stuff. I told her a story that made her laugh alot ("WTF? = Why the face?") and let her go; later I spoke to Michael and set up some stuff on yahoo - though yahoo is doing this weird thing where it says all my old contacts are new? It's weird. I stayed up; did the farm thing, and talked to Michael on his way home from work, then went to sleep.
I slept well. Woke up around 7am (went to bed around 1am I think). Michael has to have his dad at the hospital for a stress test around 9am so he's probably doing that right now. [I was wrong; he has to be at his dad's place at 9am - at the hospital at 10pm)
I just read that Smallville has probably been renewed for Season 10; scifiwire is reporting it too! This is good news; the show deserves that season IMO. At Season 7 I thought the show needed to die; that it was doing all the things it had done before and NOT very well, but after Season 7 Lana & Lex left the series, as did the head writers, and it opened up the show for a recharge that I never expected, with Seasons 8 & 9 proving to be better than the show has any right to be at this point!
I've also read that the script for Wolverine 2 (or at least the first permutation of it that I've heard of) is finished. Hopefully it will go into production soon; I imagine it won't be released until 2012, as there have been 3 years between every X-Men movie so far...
[on the phone with Michael who just called]
Oh. He made me laugh a lot and smile this morning. I hope he has a good day, and that I get to see him soon.
Anyways...Wolverine 2. I liked the first one (with 2 minor complaints including a HORRIBLE special effects scene, and 1 really terrible line of dialogue - but beyond that it rocked), and the X-Men movie series is still my favorite Superhero series of films, as I found the Spider-Man trilogy to be lacking. And while I really enjoyed 'The Dark Knight' I still think 'Batman Begins' is horrible, despite the heaps of praise it gets in most circles. 'Superman Returns' was crap. The classic Superman series sucked after Part II, and even the firsst 2 entries are so dated now as to be kind of lame. The old Batman series is pretty good; I even enjoy the 3rd entry (Batman Forever), though I (like everyone else I know) loathe the 4th & final entry in that series (Batman & Robin). "Iron Man" was ok. I've not seen the latest Hulk movie, though I will as soon as I know the order the new Marvel movies take place in (Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America & Avengers all take place in the same universe). 'Blade' was good, but the trilogy got worse as it went on, with the final entry sucking beyond the telling of it. 'Watchmen' was pretty awesome, though I found the upping of the anti-gay, removing of LGBT storylines to be annoying so I don't love it as much as the graphic novel. The original Crow movie was pretty good, but the sequels were terrible, the tv series sucked, and I'm not excited about the remake as of yet. I'm excited to see the 2nd season of 'Wolverine & the X-Men', even though my favorite character (Emma Frost) will most likely not appear. I miss the DCAU shows, but they've been replaced by DC DVD movies that I've heard are good; I just can't accept them.
