Bald Jason's Musings

I read more of my book before sleeping. Mark woke me up at 5pm to help me get to Michael's in time to be there when he gets home, but I have a headache so I'm moving a bit slower...and also I spoke to Michael and he's at the eye doctor as he started seeing flashes of light (sounds like something I get sometimes; I hope it's nothing serious).
The book (aside from 1 minor continuity flaw) has been wonderful. It feels very much like the latest in a series of books that have exposed the real story of Cardassia and it's relationship to Bajor that was wonderfully told in the series, but only here and there. I think Mollie would really enjoy this book; I think she'd actually enjoy all of the other books that I consider part of this series, which often overlap with one another. If you're reading this Mollie, these are the books that I think you'd like (including one that I know you already do):
Before DS9:
The series runs from 2369-2375.
2318-2328
2345-2357
2357-2375The above book is split into two sides. Side Two covers the years 2357-2375 in an abbreviated yet satisfying fashion, revealing the truth about a long standing mystery in DS9. Side One takes place in 2377 yet has flashbacks to some of the events in Side Two that explain the events still further.
2360-2369Season 2 - 2 years after the show:
2370-2377
Begins in 2376 but covers almost all of Garak's life. Covers some of the same ground as the other volumes with it's own spin on events, and revealing much.
The Cardassia section of this book ("The Lotus Flower") is in many ways, a followup to the previous book.
There are other amazing DS9 books that I'd recommend, but all of these titles have a strong connection to Cardassia & it's people, whom Mollie loves; as do I. If she ever sees these books for sale and has the money, they're well worth the cost.
