I had a really great day with Mark yesterday. We got some
cleaning done in the condo. We went to Little Caesars and
then watched the new Doctor Who together (6x01 The
Impossible Astronaut) which was FANTASTIC; more on that
in a bit. Then Mark & I took a walk. It had been in the 70's
earlier but it was cooling down so we dressed more
warmly and headed downtown. I love those walks we take;
they're so relaxing and they just feel like they're good for
us. I always feel really good afterwards. We took pictures
of each other. I later took more of me. Eventually I passed
out, but only for a few hours. I went to bed around 1am
and then woke around 4:30am. I'm sure I'll sleep more
later.

Lots of Doctor Who rambling to follow.

So, about the Doctor Who episode. I knew some stuff
about it before it aired, but most of it I didn't...and even
the things I did know didn't spoil much as I've managed to
avoid most of the big stuff. I knew that certain events
would happen but I didn't know why or how or in what
way they were connected and I didn't know the dialogue -
which is cool because the dialogue in this episode was
awesome. So...I really liked it....HOWEVER, there were
MANY QUESTIONS RAISED in this one. It's a multipart
story, but I think most of the questions raised here won't
be answered until the end of the season. And there's a
question raised in this for me, which I'm not sure is a
major question to the writers...which they may not
explain, but it's the one I most want answered. If they
answer my question (and the others, which I'm sure they'll
answer the other ones as they kind of have to) then I'll
give this episode the highest marks possible, and it will
have thankfully continued the trend that began with
"Vincent & the Doctor" - as I've pretty much loved all of
the 11th Doctor stories, starting with that episode. I think
they MIGHT answer my question, as I went to a Doctor
Who forum and it's not just me who's confused by this
thing that happens... Actually I can post here what this
one question is - which if you've seen it you know, and if
you haven't - well it's not a huge spoilery thing - in fact, I
wish it was one of the things that I'd known before seeing
it.

Ok. So when the episode begins, Amy & Rory are no
longer traveling with the Doctor, and they haven't been
with him for 2 months. But why did they leave him? It's not
because they're married now because they left with him
"The Big Bang" after they married. And I doubt it was the
honeymoon as Amy & Rory had a honeymoon we saw, and
at least 1 more that we didn't see and another one that
was suggested - and they were all alien spaceship / planet
sort of things - I doubt they then settled on Earth. Also,
they were so keen on going with the Doctor that a 2
month break seems odd. And it doesn't seem like they had
a falling out because they're more than happy to reunite
with him. It just feels like we're missing this big chunk of
story, which I wasn't prepared for. I just assumed it would
begin with Amy & Rory in the TARDIS with the Doctor, and
then River Song would be brought in and go from
there...but instead they did this. Hopefully we find out
why...because out of all the CRAZY, ASTOUNDING things
that happen in the episode and all the questions raised for
the characters - this is the one I most want answered.

Also, it's really hard for me to sort of guess at how the
season plays out now, because I have no idea if those final
3 Sarah Jane stories are going to air this fall. And
assuming they do, will they film some more that don't
feature Sarah Jane with a plot device to flesh out the
season? Will they just give us those 3 stories and that will
be the end of the series? Or will something big happen
that transforms the show into a new form? I don't have
these answers.

Also, it's possible, though not incredibly likely, that Jack
might appear later in the season - and if he does, which I
somehow doubt, but if he does and it takes pace after
"Miracle Day" then I'll have to incoporate the new season
of Torchwood. So...yeah...I won't have the keys to this
season for a long while yet. I do look forward to finding
out the answers though.

Oh. And they used Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" song in a
scene, which I've been listening to almost constantly
lately, so that made me smile. Also, I love River Song. Her
story arc is just brilliant and they played some stuff up
that just rocks. I'm pretty sure this new episode takes
place AFTER "The Pandorica Opens" / "The Big Bang", not
just for the Doctor, Amy & Rory but for River as well -
which is the first time that's happened. The reason why
this most likely takes place after is because River knows
Rory in this installment when she didn't know him in the
other story, and she also traveled through time without
any problems so she probably still has the Vortex
Manipulator that she acquired in the other story as
well...though her outfit in the episode didn't make that
very clear. And I'm starting to suspect that from her
perspective this takes place AFTER her other appearance
last season just based on some of her dialogue here,
along with her dialogue in "Flesh & Stone" & "The Big
Bang" - though this isn't certain. So, I THINK that from
River's perspective the story goes like this:

01 The Pandorica Opens
02 The Big Bang

In 'The Big Bang' River tells the Doctor that he's going to
find out quite soon now who she is. Meaning that maybe
from her perspective, the next time they meet that she
knows of is the day he finds out who she is. This definitely
feels like her earliest appearance thus far.

03 The Time of Angels
04 Flesh and Stone

In 'Flesh & Stone" River says the the Doctor will see her
again when the Pandorica opens and that she remembers
it well - meaning this is very clearly set after that event for
her.

05 The Impossible Astronaut
06 Day of the Moon

In 'The Impossible Astronaut' River foreshadows the
events of 'Silence in the Library' / 'Forest of the Dead',
which we can all but assume is her last encounter with the
Doctor - and his first encounter with her. Also, River's
recognition of Rory & her time travel tells us this is set
AFTER 'The Pandorica Opens' / 'The Big Bang'.

07 Silence in the Library
08 Forest of the Dead

The Doctor meets River for the first time, as River meets
the Doctor for the last. Though there is some wiggle room
for them to possibly encounter each other again. Her
physical body dies in the episode but she's saved to a data
core that the Doctor could possibly access after he knows
in her timeline she's entered the library and met her fate
there and they could finally be in the same frame of
reference.

This order could be right. Or it's possible that 'The Time of
Angels' / 'Flesh and Stone' take place after 'Impossible
Astronaut' / 'Day of the Moon'. It's hard to say at this
point.

Also, if they DO explain why Amy & Rory aren't in the
TARDIS for 2 months...AND they air the rest of The Sarah
Jane Adventures without filming anymore installments,
AND Torchwood does NOT crossover with Who this year
then this is my best guess for how Season 32 plays out
(with the exclusion of the mini-adventures of "Space",
"Time", "Prequel 02" "Prequel 03" or the 2011 Christmas
Special as those installments can't be placed until we have
more info but shouldn't cause too much trouble when they
finally are):
