Bald Jason's Musings

I finally wrote a poem for Corey on Monday. When I told Mark he was shocked that I hadn't already written him 30 or 40. lol I'm just not as into writing this year, and that's fine with me. I have little doubt that the urge will hit me again someday. Anyways, Corey, who'd been a bit nervous about the writing, seemed to like it well enough.
Tusday, I made sure to be up for work extra early, and was ready to go an hour before Mark arrived to get me. I've been late a lot lately, and while I haven't gotten into major trouble for this (mostly because the store hasn't been very busy), I personally find it annoying. I ended up getting to work 19 minutes early, and since I had to wait for Mark to pick me up, I also worked over by an hour & 10 minutes. I also made sure I sold at least 3 bundles, and at least 20 Play Guards. I might be trying to cover my ass, but it feels good. ;-0)
Work was deadly dull though. I worked with John, Bryan, Meg, Pat & Joe. We did a lot of busy work: cleaning, stocking, straightening. But we were all in fairly good moods and had no horrible customers to bring us down a notch. I forgot the yogert I was going to snack on, so I went to McDonalds and said hello to Robert. There was much laughter, and while I was glad to leave when I did, I'm constantly grateful for my coworkers, and it's nice to have a job where you can honestly say that.
After work, we went to Meijer so I could get my final Midrin refill. The drug is on back order, but they managed to find a bottle at another store, which should be in tomorrow. I'm not out of my last bottle (I just wanted to refill it before the final refill expires on Thursday), so I'm not a big rush for it, so that was fine. Mark and I said hello to some Meijer people we know from when we worked there, and then we headed home.
We were supposed to do customer billing at Bitserve, but Mark had some other stuff he wanted to do, and I was really tired, so we put it off on Mark's suggestion. I would have struggled through it if Mark hadn't said anything, but I'm very glad that he did. lol ;-0)
I fell asleep soon after laying down, and woke up around 1:30am. I fooled around online for an hour, and then started reading Harry Potter again. I'd read a chapter before work, and was really getting into. I read a hundred pages without noticing, and then remembered I needed to take my prilosec. I also need to go get some groceries before Mark takes the car to work, so I figured I should take a break, though I could easily keep reading.
I've decided that Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix is my favorite in the series thus far. When I first read it, I'd had all kinds of expectations for it, that weren't met, so I was left kind of broken. lol The 2nd time I read it, which was about 2 years ago, just days before the 6th book was released, I enjoyed it far more. This time I just appreciate so much of what the characters go through and how they grow; it's really a joy to read, which is odd, since it's a very dark book. For me, Harry Potter 1 & 2, are about the same; enjoyble, but not great. There's nothing wrong with them; they just aren't spectacular. That changes in book 3. And then they improve again in book 4, and again in book 5. Book 6 is a bit strange. It doesn't feel like a complete story, and the author has actually said that books 6 & 7 are much more connected than the previous volumes. I enjoy book 6, but I don't think I'll understand how much, or how little until I read the final volume. Though there is one storyline in the 6th book (which I won't describe here), which makes me glow every time I think of it.
Anyways...I should get to it.
