There is only 1 poem for the year 1989 - the first poem that I ever wrote.  I was a sophomore in Milan High School & was falling behind in English, so my teacher offered me a make up assignment & an extra credit assignment to help me out.  I tried to write a story about a dream that I had the night before, but in the dream I had come across a piece of poetry that I couldn't remember.  I attempted to make something up, and liked the poetry better than the short story I had started, & scrapped the story for the poem without a second thought.   My older sister Janice helped me with the ending & I got an A+ on the assignment.

Thanks for your help Janice.

The poem is pretty religion based, and inspired by far too many Disney movies; but I think it's pretty fun.  I wrote a sequel which followed the same basic sing song kind of pattern, but it was a lot darker, and while many people liked it, I never felt that it was finished.  I work on it sometimes, but my style has changed so much since then, that it's odd going back to it.  If I finish it one day, that's great, but if not, that doesn't bother me either.

The artwork that I've attached is my own & I'm very proud of it.

This is the poem:

THE PRINCE AND PRINCESS OF LOVE AND LIGHT - OCTOBER 1989
