Bald Jason's Star Wars Chronology:

This chronology does contain some spoilers so be warned.  It also only contains information from the films & tv shows.  No comics, novels or videogames are included here.

001 Episode I: The Phantom Menace

It's not called "Episode I" for nothing.  So far, this is our first chronological adventure in the Star Wars universe.

002 Episode II: Attack of the Clones

Set about 10 years after "Episode I", this film ends with the beginning of The Clone Wars.

003 Clone Wars Micro Series: Chapters 01-22.

Anakin is made a Jedi Knight in Chapter 21.  In Chapter 22 there is a montage of events which ends with Anakin reuniting with Padme, where we see the scar on Anakin's face for the first time - a scar that he has in all future appearances so we know this event takes place before the later "The Clone Wars" series.  When this scene between the secretly married couple ends, the series jumps forward about 3 years into the closing events of the war that lead into Episode III - so the episode should be stopped at that point.

Asajj Ventress is introduced in the Clone Wars Micro Series.

04 The Clone Wars 2x16 Cat and Mouse [Part I]

This 2nd Season installment of The Clone Wars takes place BEFORE the events of the animated film.  In the episode, Anakin is attempting to reach the planet Christophsis, where the opening of the film takes place, with Anakin already there.  Ahsoka Tano has also not been introduced yet.

05 The Clone Wars 1x16 The Hidden Enemy [Part II]

Another prequel to the film, this one begins after the events of "Cat and Mouse" and is more a direct prequel to the film, setting up several events from the film.

06 The Clone Wars [Part III]

The theatrical film which launched the series.  It actually plays better after the 2 prequel episodes IMO.

07 The Clone Wars 1x02 Rising Malevolence [Part I]
08 The Clone Wars 1x03 Shadow of Malevolence [Part II]
09 The Clone Wars 1x04 Destroy Malevolence [Part III]
10 The Clone Wars 3x01 Clone Cadets [Part I]

This 3rd Season episode serves as a prequel to first season episode "Rookies", explaining how the members of Domino squad got their names.  It also foreshadows events in 3rd Season Citadel Trilogy.

11 The Clone Wars 1x05 Rookies [Part II]
12 The Clone Wars 3x02 ARC Troopers [Part III]

This 3rd Season episodes provides a 3rd chapter to the "Rookies" story, transforming the original well received stand alone episode into a respectable trilogy.  Nicely done.

13 The Clone Wars 1x06 Downfall of a Droid [Part I]
14 The Clone Wars 1x07 Duel of the Droids [Part II]
15 The Clone Wars 1x08 Bombad Jedi [Part I]
16 The Clone Wars 1x09 Cloak of Darkness [Part II]
17 The Clone Wars 1x10 Lair of Grievous [Part III]*
18 The Clone Wars 1x11 Dooku Captured [Part I]
19 The Clone Wars 1x12 The Gungan General [Part II]
20 The Clone Wars 1x13 Jedi Crash [Part I]
21 The Clone Wars 1x14 Defenders of Peace [Part II]
22 The Clone Wars 1x15 Trespass

Though stand alone episodes of the series have proven to be rare, even the stand alone episode tend to introduce recurring characters, planets, vehicles and the like.  This episode introduces us to the plant Pantora and Seantor Chuchi.

23 The Clone Wars 1x17 Blue Shadow Virus [Part I]
24 The Clone Wars 1x18 Mystery of a Thousand Moons [Part II]
25 The Clone Wars 3x03 Supply Lines [Part I]

This 3rd Season installment is a prequel to the Ryloth Trilogy.

26 The Clone Wars 1x01 Ambush [Part II]

The first episode of The Clone Wars actually takes place here, just before the Ryloth trilogy.

27 The Clone Wars 1x19 Storm Over Ryloth [Part III]
28 The Clone Wars 1x20 Innocents of Ryloth [Part IV]
29 The Clone Wars 1x21 Liberty on Ryloth [Part V]

32 The Clone Wars 2x06 Weapons Factory [Part III]

34 The Clone Wars 2x08 Brain Invaders [Part V]
35 The Clone Wars 2x12 The Mandalore Plot [Part I]

43 The Clone Wars 2x22 Lethal Trackdown [Part III]
44 The Clone Wars 3x04 Sphere of Influence

This episode is set before 2x15 "Senate Murders"; we know this because Senator Onaconda Farr is seen very much alive in this episode.

45 The Clone Wars 3x05 Corruption [Part I]
46 The Clone Wars 3x06 The Academy [Part II]
47 The Clone Wars 3x07 Assassin [Part III]

The planet Alderaan makes it's first chronological appearance here.  Chronologically, it was previously mentioned in "Episode I: The Phantom Menace", and then again in 3x03 "Supply Lines".

48 The Clone Wars 3x08 Evil Plans [Part IV]
49 The Clone Wars 1x22 Hostage Crisis [Part V]

The events of this episode are set between 3x08 & 3x09.  We know that the Season 3 episodes aren't set earlier in the chronology because they are set after 2x12-2x14 (The Mandalore episodes are followed up on in 3x05-3x06) & 2x20-2x22 (the Jedi believe that Aura Sing is dead because of the events in 2x22).

50 The Clone Wars 3x09 Hunt for Ziro [Part VI]
51 The Clone Wars 2x01 Holocron Heist [Part I]

We know that this episode is set after "Hunt for Ziro" because Cad Bane's droid Todo 360, who is featured in both "Evil Plans" & "Hunt For Ziro"...is destroyed in this intallment.

The planet Felucia, first seen in "Bounty Hunters" is featured here.

52 The Clone Wars 2x02 Cargo of Doom [Part II]
53 The Clone Wars 2x03 Children of the Force [Part III]

First chronological appearance of the planet Mustafar.

54 The Clone Wars 2x11 Lightsaber Lost [Part I]

This episode was produced before 2x09 & 2x10 and plays better before those two installments, as Ahsoka meets Sinube & the younglings in this installment, and then appears with those characters at the start of 2x09 "Grievous Intrigue", making this seemingly stand alone episode form the first part of a trilogy of stories.

55 The Clone Wars 2x09 Grievous Intrigue [Part II]

The planet Felucia, last seen in "Holocron Heist" is seen in 'Newsreel' footage.

56 The Clone Wars 2x10 The Deserter [Part III]

57 The Clone Wars 3x10 Heroes on Both Sides [Part I]
58 The Clone Wars 3x11 Pursuit of Peace [Part II]

These 2 Season 3 episodes are set before 2x15 "Senate Murders".  We know this because of the story they tell and the inclusion of characters Senator Onaconda Farr & Mee Deechi who are both murdered in that installment.

New character older looking character models are introduced for Ahsoka Tano & Anakin Skywalker in this episode; the characters don't appear in the "Senate Murders" allowing for this installment's inclusion here.

59 The Clone Wars 2x15 Senate Murders [Part III]
60 The Clone Wars 3x12 Nightsisters [Part I]
61 The Clone Wars 3x13 Monster [Part II]
62 The Clone Wars 3x14 Witches of the Mist [Part III]
63 The Clone Wars 3x15 Overlords [Part I]
64 The Clone Wars 3x16 Altar of Mortis [Part II]
65 The Clone Wars 3x17 Ghosts of Mortis [Part III]

The planet Alderaan, last seen in 3x07 "Assassin", appears here in a vision of the planet's future destruction by the Death Star.

First chronological appearance of Darth Vader.  He appears in a vision.

Tarkin is introduced.

67 The Clone Wars 3x19 Counterattack [Part II]
