Happy New Year.

This is the first New Year's Eve I've ever spent completely alone. When I was younger it was the one night of the year my mother encouraged us to stay up. Early on it was just snacks and tv. Then we started renting movies. Later, on my own it was parties with friends; Darla always had great parties. Mark was part of the mix, and I've spent almost every New Year's with him since, though I opted for a party last year with my then-boyfriend Michael, and ex-bf Steve. But in year's past we've always had that little New Year's Eve kiss. Nothing sexual about it. Actually, our first kiss came on New Year's Eve 1995. There were other year's where the kiss was planned. There were several years where I slept unti midnight, only to have Mark wake me up, wish me happy new year, and kiss me before I went back to sleep. There was at least 1 year where I returned the favor.

Mark was going to be with me tonight. He was going to work until 11pm and then come home. We weren't really going to do anything. But we always have the little kiss. Sometimes a lingering hug.

Mark is in the E.R.; he went there right after work. He's been shitting blood, which is always a bad sign, but I guess it's getting worse, or at least continuing, and he has a brother who suffered something similar that was serious, so Mark is at the hospital where he needs to be. I hope he's alright. That whatever is happening with him is treatable and non-threatening.

And this is the lonliest New Years ever...

I got a Happy New Years texts from Shawn Foreman. Exchanged messages on yahoo with Trevor, online-Mark, & Corey.

I feel exhausted, and not very well myself.

I'm going to crawl back into bed.

Mark eventually made it home safe and sound; woke me up, held my hand and told me everything was ok. Which was way better than a Happy New Year. Then he let me drift back to sleep. I just woke up a few minutes ago.

I just finished my first draft, explaining how Mollie's new BSG discs will fit in with the ones I've already sent here. I'm afraid it's too confusing. I'll give it another go later.

Meanwhile. Here are new Season 4.5 promos:

And here's a trailer for "The Top 10 Things You Need To Know" special, which is meant to bring new viewers up to date so they can watch the final 10 episodes:

It's a good idea, ratings wise, to bring new fans in for the end of the series, and to help them enjoy it. But I sort of pity those new fans, for all that they've missed and will have spoiled for them by seeing the ending before the beginning. Yet it's heavily implied in several rumors that further revelations in the final 10 episodes will change the way we view the beginning of the series.

I slept some more. More strange dreams.

I'm finding it hard to get into the first Xanth book, even though I've read it before. I think it's the heterosexism. There's this line where Bink, the main character, is thinking about how he's reacted to seeing a sexy woman, and he excuses this by saying that he'd hardly be human if he didn't react to the sight. I guess that means when gays don't respond to a beautiful sexy woman, that it's a sign they aren't people. Erg. Annoying. The book was written in 1977. It seems to me that a later Xanth novel ("Demons Don't Dream") had a touch of homosexuality though. I can't remember what it was though. Whatever. I still have happy memories of "Question Quest".

New Cover art has been released for this years's 2 new DS9 novels; here they are with the plot descriptions given a few weeks ago:

I think the first cover is hiddeous, though I understand the significance of the imagery, and it's the book I'm most looking forward to this year.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
The Soul Key
by Olivia Woods

Continuing the events from Star Trek: Fearful Symmetry, a new novel in the ongoing Deep Space Nine series set after the end of the critically acclaimed television series.

Captain Kira’s lookalike, Iliana Ghemor, dreams of fulfilling a prophecy that will mark her as the one true Emissary of the mirror universe—a messianic figure who will lead her followers into a war that could trigger the cleansing of countless alternate Kiras in countless parallel realities. But the stakes are higher than anyone imagines, for the pull of destiny tugs at other souls who are swept into the vortex of the Prophets, remote and timeless beings who have set these events in motion. Yet the outcome of this struggle for the fate of one universe will ripple across many others, giving shape to a future that will prove to be greatest trial yet for the heroes of station Deep Space 9.
----------------------

The 2nd cover is breathtaking, and the description enticing, though I've had troubles with this author's books in the past, so I'm a bit weary about this one.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
The Never-Ending Sacrifice
by Una McCormack

Continuing the post-television Deep Space Nine saga, this original novel shows the fall of the Cardassian empire as seen through the eyes of a young man with a foot in two worlds.

Rugal is an orphaned Cardassian who has been raised by the people his race once conquered, the Bajorans. Reluctantly repatriated to Cardassia as a teenager, Rugal becomes the living witness to the downfall of the proud people to whom he was born, first by the invading Klingons, then during the Cardassians’ unholy pact with the Dominion—a partnership that culminated in a near-genocide. Through it all, Rugal’s singular perspective illuminates the choices that brought the Cardassians to their ruin... even as he learns that the Cardassian soul is not as easy to understand as he imagined.

Yesterday, my monitor started fraking with me again. Badly. It's been ok the last few weeks. I don't know what sets it off, but it's really fucking annoying. I know I need a new one; I'd even welcome it. This monster takes up too much room. I'd like one with at least the same size screen or larger, but flat so it doesn't take up as much room.

The other day while I was out with Janice and the kids Janice pointed out a HUGE flock of birds. Then yesterday evening, I was chatting online and I heard this strange noise. I thought it was rain or something. I went into Mark's room so I could look out his big window; opening it a crack. I saw no rain, which is what I thought it was at first, then the sound really hit me. I looked at the trees across the railroad tracks and they were filled with crows. All of them cawing. It was a powerful image. Creepy. I called Janice and told her. She called me back playing the school house music from that scene in 'The Birds' where Tippi Hedron is waiting with her back to a jungle gym that is slowly filling up with birds while the kids inside sing an annoying song. She found it on youtube.

Janice and I used to watch "The Birds" on television every year. It terrified our mother, who was afraid of birds. It seemed that every year a bird would find it's way into our farm house, and we'd chase it down while our mother screamed and cried. Good fun as a kid. lol

While my monitor was working yesterday I worked on some artwork for poetry I plan to write in 2009. A lot of what I write is inspired by people and books and things. But a lot of what I write is inpsired by the art I do. I like both ways of working. I only wrote 4 poems in 2008. It just didn't feel like the time for it, but I want to get back to that in 2009.

And when my monitor started messing up I found that playing windows media player actually helps. Well, it doesn't help so much as windows media player seems to be ammune to the trouble. So I could watch stuff that I had on my computer and it came in great.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Will & Grace Season 8. I once read a survey taken on some website asking when Will & Grace jumped the shark. Many people voted for bits of the first 4 seasons which I can understand, as the show is very hit or miss, but there more hits than misses in my opinion. I recently saw the 5th Season and I thought that was fairly good as well. I've seen bits and pieces of the 6th Season and it was ok too. So I just assumed these people were bitter or something. Only Season 8 is sucking beyond the telling of it. There's a funny joke every once in awhile. But the stars look terrible. The wring is mostly subpar. And the staging is just...ick. There's this scene where Jack is supposed to be teaching Will how to swim, and from the dialogue pouring out of their mouths there are other people in the pool with them, yet it's OBVIOUS they are alone. Not an extra in sight. I felt humiliated for the actors. It's just really, really terrible. Now I don't know if Season 7 was this bad, but I can now say that it probably should have ended with that season. I'll probably finish the season, so that I've seen the final season, but it's not going to be pretty.

I also watched more Ally. And while I enjoy the first season, Season 2 is an improvment. I'm nearly finished with 2nd Season, and it's just very well done, and a brilliant extension of Season 1. I remember Season 3 as slightly mixed - Season 4 as excellent, and what I saw of Season 5 was crap...which was understandable as so much they depended on for the series was yanked out from under them before Season 5 began. I'll see if I feel any differently about it this time, because this was great series for 4 seasons, and deserved better for it's final season. Will & Grace was also just so so.

BSG Season 4.5 begins 2 weeks from tonight.

I slept from about 8pm to 4am. Very nice. Nice dreams. Good rest. Comfortable. Wish it was always that easy.

I got out of the condo today. I went to the bank; a couple book stores, and Krogers. I got the new Star Trek magazine, which I've been wanting. I don't usually get that, and even magazines I do like to buy haven't been bought by me recently, but this issue had a timeline of all the Mirror Universe stories and how they all fit together, and I wanted that. So I got it.

I can't believe it's Friday.

I just read this really great interview with Ron Moore, in which it's confirmed that most of my questions for the final set of BSG episodes will be dealt with in some fashion, which is a relief.

Here's the excerpt from the interview that I liked best, with the interviewer in bold:

After I watched "Revelations," I thought it was a great ending, but I jotted down a list of things that still had to be dealt with. I'm wondering, without you giving it away, whether these things are going to be addressed or whether these are things that we're thinking a lot more about than you were.

Do you have a list?

Yeah.

Okay.

Obviously, the identity of the final Cylon, we will find this out?

Yeah.

The origin and nature of the Final Four and how they different from the rest of them?

Yes.

The origin of the rest of the skinjobs?

Yes.

What happened to Earth and what happened to the 13th Colony?

Yes.

Who, if anyone, is orchestrating all of this?

Basically, yeah. I don't know if it's going to be wrapped up in a neat bow. The show has an answer for it, whether it's a satisfying answer, I don't know.

Will "All this has happened before and it will happen again" be explained in some way?

Yes.

The opera house?

Yes.

What happened to Kara when she went through the Malestrom?

Pretty much.

Identity and nature of the "head" characters?

Yes.

Tigh and Six's baby, and whether that means Cylons can breed?

Yes. That's not a "yes" to whether they can breed -- the question will be answered.

The fate of Boomer and whether there are other 1's, 4's and 5's floating out there?

Yes.

Roslin's health?

Yes.

Okay, that's a "yes" on all of them.

See? We knew what all the questions were! I'm kind of proud of myself. "Yes"es to all of them. I thought you were going to throw a curve at me, like, "Oh, (bleep)."
-----------------------------------------

It's so cool to know that so many questions will be answered! I figured they'd explain what happened to Earth; who the final Cylon is; the signicance of Kara Thrace. I wasn't sure they'd touch on the 'head' characters (the possibly imagined versions of Caprica Six, Baltar and Leoben). Tigh & Caprica Six's baby was a huge question in my mind, that I wasn't sure we'd get an answer to. And how the final 5 seem different than the other 7 models. So many answers. :0)

I need to shave and take some pictures today. Finish my laundry. Clean my room. I should call Jordan today. My ex-bf Jordan; not my nephew. He's in town and wanted to see me, but I've been doing this and that this week. I should call him. I should also get some work on my website if my monitor doesn't freak out.

I have a doctor's appointment at 9am on Monday. I have a dentist appointment at noon on Monday. Fun Fun. Only not.

Gaius Baltar - Season 4.5:

posted by Bald Jason at 04:02 AM
[Karma: 0 (+/-)] [Comments Welcome Here]

I chatted yesterday. I read some of my Trek magazine; the Mirror Universe timeline. I shaved and took my first pictures of 2009, which came out really well. I've found in the last few months that I really enjoying setting up pictures that I take on my own. Sometimes I end up with nothing. And other times I end up with gold. :0)

There's this guy I've been chatting with online with for about a week, named Vance. He's a huge Doctor Who fan, and he made a comment about classic Who, about Romana II. Which lead to me wondering if she could possibly have survived the Time War as she was off in E-Space, or whatever... And he told me that my geekiness is hotter than any of my pictures, because he just doesn't know anyone that gets excited about that kind of stuff. And I know what he means, because when I find other fans, who like the same things I do - it's rare.

I went to bed around 9pm. I had strange dreams. I woke up around 3:30am.

Battlestar Galactica 4.5 begins in 13 days.

Oh! And they will be announcing the actor to become the 11th Doctor today! I've heard rumors about who it is... I wonder if they're true?

My stomach was upset earlier, and I was worried it might spoil the day, but that eventually ran it's course.

I chatted a bit. Had a great wank; really great - shot all over the place. Had a lovely, long, hot shower. And I think I might go back to bed for a bit.

And the 11th Doctor is Mr. Smith; Mr. Matt Smith. The youngest actor to play the role (smart move in my opinion - yet, the Doctor is younger than me [26 years old] which is creepy), though all the rumors of a black actor taking the role make him seem awfully pale. The picture there is black and white. But I hope he's 'ginger'. :0)

***update***

I've now seen some promotional pics and read bits of news. He could be a good 11, but he could be terrible. I'll try to reserve judgment until I actually see him in the role, which won't be for at least a year - and probably a bit more than that. In some of the pics I've seen...his hair really annoys me. lol

Disturbing pieces of my childhood:

Mark's little party went well Saturday. I had really good pizza just before so I was full and happy. I didn't get tired, which was odd. We played 'Apples to Apples'; Mark, Sean & his gf Emily, Bryan Alfaro and me. It was really nice to see Bryan again. We played 3 games. I won the first one. Mark won the 2nd one. Emily won the 3rd. Our guests all left around the same time. Then I chatted for a bit, and went to bed around 9pm.

I woke up around 1:30am when I accidentally knocked over some dvds in my sleep. I got up. Chatted and drank wine. Relaxed. I eventually wanked off, showered and slept. My sexual impulses have been really strong lately.

I woke up again around 7am. I've been awake ever since. Working on some website stuff, and chatting with friends. Listening to score music from Firefly, Doctor Who, and Battlestar Galactica. There's no new BSG news today. :0( There's a new webisode on tomorrow, which I've seen, but I look forward to the writer's commentary. There's a new one on Wednesday that I've not seen. I should have the Season 4.0 discs on Tuesday (they've already shipped from Amazon). There's a special about BSG on a week from tonight. Then a week from tomorrow 'The Face of the Enemy' webisodes finish up, and a week from Friday, new episodes start. yay!

I have this friend named Vance that I've been chatting with. I'd like to get him into BSG. But I don't personally want to rewatch the series again, until after it's over so I can see how well it all fits together.

Hopefully Mark will install my new blu-ray player / dvd burner and I can work on some discs for Mollie.

Got my dvd burner installed today. Thank you Mark! Been burning Mollie discs and reading the 4th Xanth book. And that's about the it.

I might take some more pictures later. Work on my website. I'm itching to work on some more art...and get back to my poetry.

I took a break from DVD burning to write a couple short poems and place them on my website. You can see those here. I also finished off another page of pictures, which you can see here (in all their graphic glory - not work safe!).

I'm going to get back to burning BSG discs for Mollie now, while I read my Xanth book. I'll probably sleep soon.

12 days until BSG 4.5 begins. :0)

   Monday, January 5, 2009

I slept for at least 7 hours. I woke up from a dream in which my mother was being sued for something that happened at K-Mart many years ago, and I was wrangling a deal to save her. lol. I just downloaded the new Doctor Who Confidential Special that announced the 11th Doctor. I'll watch that soon.

And I haven't seen any new BSG news, but I happened across an article I posted here last month, and there's information in it that I didn't notice before. Namely, that the post-series movie "The Plan" is scheduled to air in June 2009.

So we have new BSG every week from now until March 20th. Nip/Tuck starts up again tomorrow and runs through the end of February. The L Word starts up it's final season January 18 and runs throuh March 8. There's a new Doctor Who Special on Sunday, April 12 (Easter). BSG: The Plan is in June. We probably have a 5 part Torchwood mini-series sometime between now and June - though there's really no word on when that's airing aside from it being this year. I'm wondering if Season 4.5 will be coming out on DVD in July or sometime shortly after "The Plan" airs, with that film included in the set. That's my guess anyways.

I watched that Doctor Who special. Hope the new guy works out. His fingers are huge!

I had a really bad migrain. I wanked, took some midrin and a hot shower. I shaved. The combination worked like a charm and my headache is at the least subdued, and possibly gone for good; we'll see.

I printed up some info for my doctor's appointment, which is at 9am. I'm really super nervous about my appointment. I have a new doctor. A male doctor. I've not really had a steady male doctor since I was in my teens. And whatever new doctor I decide on, I'm going to have to talk about my sexuailty with, and certain subjects that I've never broached before, and I have to be comfortable with that doctor. It would be different if I was seeing my old doctor but I'm not. So there are layers of nervousness. I think as long as I'm completey up front about what I'm looking for in a doctor I'll be ok. I just need to let this guy know that I'm gay, and have these health concerns; that I want a doctor who is comfortable with that, and will suggest things to me without fear... and will be compassionate when I have to talk about things I'm uncomfortable with. And if this doctor says he can do that, then I'll be comfortable with him. I have to remember to tell him I need a new perscription for Midrin. I'm calling in my last refill today. Actually I need to call in my refills right now.

I called in my perscriptions; they'll be ready at 11am. So I'm thinking I'll go to my doctor's appointment at 8:30. I'll go to the bank afterwards for grocery money; get my groceries at Kroger. Come home; go to my dentist appointment at noon. Go to pick up my perscriptions at Meijer; come home so Mark can go to work. Or maybe the bank, then Meijer if it's late enough. Or maybe Kroger, then Meijer if I have time. But I don't want to do that, because I want to make sure I have time to get to my dentist. So the first way is best. Or maybe... Ugh. I'll figure it out later.

Wish me luck!

I printed up a list of the things I want to cover with the new doctor. I'm still nervous, but I feel prepared.

My dentist appointement is at 12, but it's scheduled for 2 hours. That's gonna be hell. I'm gonna have serious headaches and jaw pain when it's over. Ick.

Ooh. I checked the status of my amazon order of BSG: 4.0 - I just wanted to make sure it was going to be here tomorrow. But it's already in Ypsi, which means unless there are special instructions to wait until tomorrow, I'll have new dvd episodes to watch today! :0)

Then I get to burn more discs for Mollie. I think I have like 10 more to go. BSG. And a doctor Who disc. And she wanted the Dr. Horrible soundtrack. It will be a nice little care package for Moll. Hope she's feeling ok.

I have to leave for my Doctor's Appointment soon.

Mark wants me to return his movies for him today; I told him I would. "The Dark Knight" wouldn't play, which sucks because that's the one I wanted to see most of all. Blah.

I got to my doctor's appointment on time. I met my new doctor, Dr. Kesterson. I told him all about my concerns, and he was with me all the way, and it went extremely well. He cleared up some doubts that I had, and set up a nice system to help me with certain troubles in the future. In retrospect, there are a few problems I didn't discuss with him, but this was caused by my own nervousness, and they're things that I hadn't planned on in advance. All in all, I'm calling that a good beginning.

I stopped at the bank, and Kroger on my way home. But as often happens when I went to the grocery store, I drew a blank on why I was there. I blame my long aversion to food for this recurring problem. I picked up a few items and then went to Mark's video store to return his movies. It's a bit of a drive as it's not in Ann Arbor, and then when I got there at about 5 to 10am, I found that the store doesn't open until 11am. I called Mark to tell him the news, then journeyed back to Ann Arbor, and home.

I rechecked the status of BSG 4.0, but there was no change. The delivery estimate lists today though. :0)

Now I'm going to have a snack. Brush my teeth as spotless as possible. And bide my time until my dentist appointment, at noon.

Just got home.

The dentist visit was hellish. My jaw is so fucked up. They only did half the work they planned on, and I have to go again. Blah. I'll probably have to do the hot / cold compress thing again.

BSG 4.0 arrived right before I left. I'm going to watch the special features now. Or not. I guess I'll wait until I'm done with the set.

First I'll watch the commentary for Webisode 8, which is now available here.

I started watching the new BSG, but fell asleep. I just woke up. My jaw is no longer numb. And it hurts like fucking hell. So I have to take 8 Ibuprofin, and do this hot compress / cold compress thing. Ugh. I'm eating now, and I'm nearly crying.

Mollie left me a message earlier, and then I left her one right after. She just called me back and we talked about The Wicked Years, Wicked the musical, doctors, hospitals, infections, pain, boys, Doctor Who, BSG... all kinds of stuff. It was fun, but my jaw hurt the whole time.

Blah.

I just saw a clip from next year's BSG prequel series: Caprica. I'd seen a trailer for Caprica before, which didn't impress me, but this new scene has me a little more excited. Caprica will be completely different than BSG, but will deepen the mythology, and make certain things in BSG even more impressive, and resonate even more.

Here's the trailer for the pilot episode that didn't impress me before, but is growing on me now:

I finished watching the first 4 episodes of BSG 4.0: "He That Believeth In Me", "Six of One", "The Ties That Bind" & "Escape Velocity". 6 more to go. ;0) It's a lot better watching the series on dvd. Having to wait 1 episode to the next actually decreases the enjoyment factor, where as on dvd in larger doses, patterns become visible.

I slept from about 10pm - 5:30am. I watched 2 more episodes of BSG 4.0: "The Road Less Traveled" & "Faith"; 4 episodes left. The only webisode I've not seen will be released tomorrow. BSG 4.5 begins in 10 days. Though I'm excited for it to begin, I know I'm not going to enjoy it as much as I would if I could see it in short period of time; like 2 or 3 days. When you have to wait a week for an episode of series this packed full of continuity and mythology, where storylines must be set aside for an episode or two, it becomes less satisfying to view on a weekly schedule. If I thought I could wait for the series to finish, and catch it on dvd without it being spoiled for me by the media blitz that will undoubtedly follow the last episodes of the series, I would. But I'd rather watch it in bits and not be spoiled - and then go back and rewatch the complete series in a short time; especially after "The Plan" airs in June. Or possibly more than a year from now after Caprica's first season again puts things in a new light.

Oh. I just read something, which might be in error, but it's saying that the 9th webisode won't be posted until Friday? Hmmm.

During my dentist appointment yesterday something odd happened. I had a crown installled and during the procedure I noticed an odd taste in my mouth. It reminded me of the taste of an icecream cone; the cone itself. I thought it was just some of the stuff they were spraying my mouth with, but I still have that flavor, and I think it's the crown itself. I hope it goes away in time...cause it's annoying.

I wrote 2 new poems, which now means that in the first 6 days of 2009, I've already written as much poetry as I did in all of 2008. You can see the new poems here.

I'm horny. ;0)

I got a lot done yesterday. I wrote poetry. I did artwork. I posted both on my website. I got some sexy pictures taken. I uploaded them to the computer. I played with a new toy. I read some of my Xanth book. I watched 3 episodes of BSG (the first 2 were mentioned before, the 3rd was "Guess What's Coming To Dinner" - which was better than I remembered). I downloaded the next 7 episodes of Ally McBeal. I chatted online with Trevor, onlineMark, Jordan, and others. I ate. I picked up the clutter in my room. I went to bed around 10pm. I woke up for a minute around 2am, when Mark apparently got home (don't know why he got home so late), then went back to sleep and woke up at 7:07.

I've been working on my website for the last 3 hours. I did artwork for about 15 older poems (including one I wrote last year and had forgotten about - and another 1 I wrote today), and now all my poetry from 2006-2009 are available to be read. You can see them all here.

I watched the new Face of the Enemy webisode; the only installment I hadn't seen yet, which proved to be crucial, if slightly confusing. I need to watch the all together when they're finished. I want to make sense of it all. I was hoping for something slightly different, but this works.

All I did yesterday was work on my website and watch Ally McBeal; I'm a 3rd of the way through Season 3. I managed to not watch any BSG. I've got 8 days until Season 4.5 begins. There's a special on Sunday and a webisode on Monday. The webisodes re-air on scifi a week from today.

I went to bed around 11pm and woke up around 7am. Nice.

I watched several Ally McBeal episodes yesterday; over half way through Season 3, and the complete series. I chatted with Vance. Later chatted with this guy James that I met at Necto back in mid-September 2008. We chat every once in awhile. He lives in Jackson but he works in Ann Arbor. He was about to get out of work so I invited him over. We hung out; talked; listened to music. It was nice.

Mark didn't get home until around 1am. I went to bed around 2am.

I woke up around 9am. Been working on a few projects. I'm gonna try to get some reading done today. I've been reading at a snail's pace lately, and it's annoying me.

I was thining of maybe playing AVP on Thursday. Hmm.

7 days until BSG returns.

Just read a really cool BSG interview. It again commented on the number of questions answered in the final episodes while revealing no spoilers, and giving us more information.

Apparently the finale of BSG will be 3 hours long. I had heard this before, but I thought that this included episode 9 of 4.5, "Daybreak, Part 1", only that doesn't appear to be the case. This means that we have 10 episodes left, but 12 hours of BSG to watch. Plus "The Plan". Plus "Caprica". Nice.

This is especially good news for me, because I'm a sucker for bookends. Battelstar Galactica started with a mini-series that aired over 2 nights. If you split each segment up into episode size sections with commercials and all, it's 4 separate episodes. And now the series is ending with what is essentially a 4 part episode. I've obviously not seen the ending, but I already enjoy the symmetry of it. Take Caprica into account (not to mention the unused minisodes from "Razor") and the 4 hour miniseries has an introduction and prologue, with "The Plan" serving as an epilogue. I just like the idea of it all. Hopefully it ends well. It's been tool long since we had a science fiction triumph like this. The only 2 that come to mind for me are DS9 & Firefly.

I'm also liking that while "The Plan" serves as an epilogue the first time you watch the complete series, that when you rewatch the series (and BSG is a series that BEGS to be rewatched) you can view "The Plan" at a certain point within the series and it should make sense (probably near the end of Season 2). And all kinds of things you thought you understood about the characters the first time around are turned on their heads during the 2nd viewing. It's awesome. Brilliant really. The 2nd time around viewers will know who all the Cylons are and what they were up to. They'll also know about Gaeta & Hoshi; Gina & Helena Cain; & what Gaius whispered in Gaeta's ear. And they'll know how things begin and how they end; who lives and who dies. It's just cool that something enjoyed so much the first time around can be enjoyed for different reasons the 2nd time around.

But only if it ends well. Yet I can't imagine it not ending well. We'll see.

These are the episodes we have left, which will air 1 a week for 10 weeks, starting 1 week from tonight:

Season 4.5:
01 Sometimes a Great Notion
02 A Disquiet Follows My Soul
03 The Oath
04 Blood on the Scales
05 No Exit
06 Deadlock
07 Someone to Watch Over Me
08 Islanded In a Stream of Stars
09 Daybreak, Part I
10 Daybreak, Part II (3hr Series Finale)

In another interview I read, which I can't find now, Ron Moore mentioned that there's a good chance that the dvd release of these episodes would likely include an extended cut of both "A Disquiet Follows My Soul" & "Daybreak, Part II". Nice. The set will also undoutedly include the webisode series "The Face of the Enemy". It remains to be seen if the set will also include "The Plan" in the same way that Season 1 included the mini-series, and Season 4.0 included "Razor", but it would be nice.

I went to bed around 1am, after reading a bit of my Xanth book (#04 Centaur Aisle). The thing about Xanth, is parts of it I really love. I love the continuity of the series. How they cross reference each other and each generation of characters is followed by the next while not forgetting the past. For instance, the first books I read, in the late 80's folled the adventures of Dolph & Ivy, the children of the characters I'm reading about now (Dor & Irene), who are the children of the characters I read a few years ago (Bink & Chameleon). But some of it is really, really infantile. And all the characters are straight. So far. Blah.

I woke up feeling...not quite ill, but not all-together well, at 8am.

Ooh. New BSG Promos!

A special to bring in new viewers has been created (just as they've done every season so far)...

10 Things You Need To KNOW - this Sunday:

The final webisode of 'The Face of the Enemy' will be released on Monday, but they'll be televised before BSG 4.5 begins.

The Face of the Enemy - this Thursday:

People that missed some episodes; People that want to rewatch episodes; People that want to join the show without jumping in on the last 10 episodes: marathon time...

BSG Marathon - this Friday:

And finally...

Know the Truth - this Friday:

Just 6 days until the first of the final 10 episodes is aired. And I still have the special on Sunday; the final webisode on Monday, and 3 more Season 4.0 episodes to rewatch. ;-0)

I watched the next episode of BSG: "Sine Qua Non". This episode, which is very good on it's own, serves as a perfect example of why BSG is far more satisfying on DVD than it is when it actually airs. The episode before it ("Guess What's Coming to Dinner?") is a 5 star episode that has a bit of a cliffhanger. The episode I just watched (which aired 2 weeks after the previous episode because of a holiday) picks up the story, but only from the point of view of the fleet and the clues they find to the fates of the other characters. From a character standpoint this is brilliant because we feel the way the characters do and their actions in response to the situation at hand are more realistic in that context. But as a viewer aching to see what happens to the other group of characters, which is answered in the next episode ("The Hub") - this meant that I went 3 weeks before finding out the answers that I wanted, which was too much time. It lost some of it's edge, and made this otherwise great episode feel unsatisfying as a result. But on DVD that isn't a problem. Because I can now make my lunch and come back knowing that the answers I seek will be given to me in an acceptable, more enjoyable interval of time. Cool. This is why, to some degree, while I'm very excited to see the final episodes as they air; I'm even more excited about watching them all on dvd so I can enjoy them even more. ;0)

After the episode, I wanked and had a nice hot shower. Now I'm going to get something to eat, and continue with BSG. I may watch the final episode of 4.0 as well; I mean I've got less than a week until the next installment...or I might hold off on that episode for awhile. I don't know.

I watched the rest of BSG 4.0; it helped to distract me from my upset stomach. It was all wonderful, though I noticed a flaw which is going to annoy me now. In the episode "Revelations", which is a fantastic mid-season finale, Adama mentions his promise to the crew to find Earth, and said that he made it 3 years ago. And 3 seasons ago he did. But there's another year in the closing moments of Season 2. Which means they fraked up here. Unless one of the seasons took place in less than a year, which is possible. In fact, the first season is shorter than the others, so it's possible, given that this is mid-fourth season and not the ending. Hmmm. I'll have to think about it... lol

I'm gonna take a bath. That sometimes helps calm my stomach.

Actually, now that I think about it, they didn't get it wrong! Seasons 1 & 2 are just under 1 year in length. We know this because in Razor, which is set just before the 3 hour finale of Season 2, the flashbacks to the attack on the 12 colonies, which took place in the mini-series are said to have taken place 10 months ago! Then there's a year and some months between the closing moments of Season 2 and the start of Season 3. We don't know how much time passes in Season 3, but if it's like Seasons 1 & 2, probably less than a year - and then 'Revelations' happens half a season later. It fits. Good. Now I don't have to be annoyed every time I watch the episode; in fact - I can once again rejoice in the fact that the writers for BSG actually get most of this stuff right! :0)

I wish I had more BSG to watch. :-0(

It finally stopped snowing a short while ago. Still a lot of snow out there though.

My jaw is still bothering me from my dentist appointment on Tuesday. Not as bad as last time, when I could hardly open my mouth. But there's a lot of TMJ jaw popping, and I'm getting a lot of migrains from it. It's really annoying.

I'm about to make some cinnimon rolls, and take some midrin with that. It kicks in better if I eat something.

Been watching Ally McBeal. Billy is dead. There are some episodes that I remember so clearly, and others that I hardly remember at all. It's very interesting revisting the series after 7 or 8 years. The season I'm watching now, which I saw partially as it aired, aired 9 years ago. I've got 3 more episodes in season 3, and then Robert Downey Jr shows up for Season 4 - which is a season I really only saw once, and I loved it. But the show became centered on Robert's character and he went back to drugs and they had to write him out of the show, and at the same time, a lot of other actors were already leaving...and 9/11 happened - and the show just never recovered. I'll see it through this time.

My head is throbbing so bad I just want to rip my eyes out!

I finished Season 3 of Ally last night and started Season 4, but had to stop the first episode and sleep. I had crazy dreams about sex (HOT) and BSG (interesting). I had morning wood when I woke up.

I took a shower. I read some news and wrote this. My life has been pretty internalized lately.

5 Days until BSG 4.5. Apparently Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama) and Mary McDonnell (President Roslin) will be on The View on Thursday. Hopefully someone will post it online.

Very cool retrospective on 2008 in film:

I used to see so many movies; I saw 2 in theaters last year ("AVP:R", "Hellboy II"), and there's only one in this montage of 99 or 100 movies that I've seen. Kind of makes me sad. But I mostly saw movies with Mollie, and seeing them without her feels weird. Plus I usually caught movies when they came into work and I missed a big wave of movies this year, as the ones that did come out on dvd already were right around the time I left Hollywood.

My stomach is still upset. But not as much as it was yesterday or this morning. And the weather is a lot more inviting than it was yesterday; it's not snowing and the sun is out. I should go to the store(s) and I probably will.

I just watched a video interview with Edward James Olmos talking about "The Plan", which he directed. He raved about it, and said the fans will be so glad that they made it. He also said that it might run longer than 2 hours, and if so it will all be on the dvd. Hopefully these means a longer cut (like "Pegasus", "Razor" & "Unfinished Business") rather than just a set of deleted scenes. I find it hard to watch deleted scenes because I'm almost always bummed they were removed from the episode...and I feel like if they weren't in the episodes than they don't count. The only exceptions to this, for me, are the Razor minisodes that didn't make it back into the Razor extended cut, because those WERE aired online before Razor aired on television.

Anyways - I saw the above interview at this fun site (which I found through this other fun BSG site), where you can see a lot of BSG commentary. I plan to watch more of their webcasts when I get home from the stores.

So I ended up going to the stores yesterday, with Mark. I was planning on going alone, but then realized I missed him and wanted to spend some time with him. Which went well; even though he forgot his wallet and I ended up driving us everywhere and paying for everything. lol. He did get me some cash and it was no big deal. It was fun actually.

First we went to Hilldards. My ex-bf Michael was working. It's always weird seeing him there. I don't know if he doesn't notice me or he's trying to avoid me. I don't like going up to him there because he's a captive audience in that situation, you know? I don't want to corner him for a hello. He took me off his myspace and facebook pages for a reason, and while I don't understand it, I've tried to respect that. I wouldn't even go to Hillards, but it's the only place we can find (Mike clued us in, during better times) that sells the Dannon Water that I like so much. Mark needed a funnel and we got that there too, plus 2 bottles of the wine that I like, for cheap.

Then we expressed to Meijer where I got pills and Boost and almost bought The Dark Knight. I've still not seen it. But I figured I could go to Hollywood and rent it. I picked up Dark Knight, The Women, Iron Man & Prince Caspian. Only they'd raised the prices to $4 something. Now, that may not seem like much, but I'm used to getthing them for free, and I just left without getting the movies. Mark wanted to help me get them another way but at that point I was so frustrated I just wasn't in the mood to watch them anymore.

We went to the bank and to Kroger for groceries, then to Little Caesars where we ran into an old Hollywood customer of mine named Pam. We embraced and talked about missing each other and traded stories of the new (lame) Hollywood Video; she told me she got in a huge fight with the assistant manager, and othe tales. It was nice.

We got our food and headed home. We ate separately, both watching different things. I watched more BSG related stuff online - I'm ACHING for the final 10 episodes now. After the really good food, we got the groceries out of the car, and went our separate ways again.

My stomach was still a bit upset last night, but seemed better by morning. I slept for about 8 hours. I had several interesting dreams. One involved my cousin Jennifer having a beautiful little daughter. Jennifer is pregnant right now, and I'm going to have to ask if she knows the sex of the child yet. lol

I watched and read more BSG related stuff when I got up. I got Mark out of bed for work. I watched the final webisode with commentary. I watched the holiday episode of Graham Norton. I watched last weeks new episode of Nip/Tuck; LOVED it. And then I left Mollie some obscenely long messages on her voicemail.

I got on facebook to reply to a message from my nephew, Jordan. Then I responded to an e-mail from Carrie, during which she sent me a message on the facebook messenger. Then I chatted with her, and Chris and Cara. It was fun. And now I'm writing this.

4 Days Until BSG 4.5:

   Tuesday, January 13, 2009

3 days until BSG: 4.5 - and I spent some of my morning working out some BSG related stuff I might talk about later.

It's looking more and more likely that Torchwood Season 3 won't be airing until June/July 2009. I dislike always having to wait more than a year between seasons, but at the same time I'm not aching for new Torchwood or Who episodes at the moment. I'm resigned to this being the Whoniverse Lite year, and so I'm less excited by any Whoniverse news of late.

I'm sleepy.

Mark called in today.

Mark brought home "Wall*E" and "Prince Caspian" last night. I'll try to watch those later, as they're due back tomorrow. He rented them from one of those vending machines at the store.

I eventually sat down and watched "Wall*E", which I enjoyed. As a 'Hello Dolly' fan, I kept getting pulled out of the movie though. If I didn't recognize the musical stuff I would have enjoyed it more I think, which probably sounds weird as I knew about the link before I saw it, and I know others who love both. I also thought it was better before 'Eve/Eva' started talking, because I was thinking that it would be cool to keep Wall*E's love interest's gender a non-issue so the audience could decide for themselves. But it was still cute. I guess I was hoping for something a little edgier.

After the movie I was still tired; I didn't get a lot of sleep last night - so I took a nap, which was great. And I woke up feeling fantastic. :0)

   Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I went to Hollywood last night and rented "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man", "The Women" and "The Mummy 3". I picked up a pizza and headed home. I ate. I chatted on Facebook with my old friend Willie. I had some wine. I started burning discs for Mollie. I settled in and watched "The Dark Knight".

Now anyone who's heard me talk about "Batman Begins" knows that I don't like that film, and that I find it impossible to understand how others enjoy it. I saw it in the theater with my best friend Mollie, and we were both unimpressed. It's just bad. The direction is bad. The actions scenes are either a confusing mess (in the first part of the film), or so over the top (in the 2nd part of the film) that I almost felt I was rewatching "Batman & Robin". The 'love story' was horribly written. Katie Holms took a lot of flak for this as she played the love interest, but really she's hardly in the movie and her storyline just wasn't told or written very well. She could have fucked it up; she just wasn't given a chance too. And for the first time, seeing a Batman movie, I questioned why anyone would be afraid of someone dressed as a freaking Bat? Why aren't they laughing I asked myself.

Last year I re-rented "Batman Begins" because I wanted to give it another chance. I wanted to like it. Why? Because I worked in a video store, and the way people praised that film...and the friends that I made there that loved that movie...I just felt like the odd one out. I thought maybe I'd been too harsh or something; maybe the print of the movie I'd seen in the theater was bad or something. Well I did like the film more the 2nd time, but not by much. The thing about watching it a 2nd time was that I realized what bothered me about it. The first half of "Batman Begins" (horribly edited as it is) feels very real (for a Batman movie) and then in the 2nd half of the film he becomes this comic book character in what has been built up as a very real world before the film explodes with a comic book ending. Previous Batman films were based in a very fantasy like setting so having a guy dressed like Batman didn't really seem that odd, but when it's set up as reality...having a guy dressed like a bat just seems really silly. The acting in the film is fine; it's just the choices made in the film that I find hard to take seriously. Anyways - I enjoyed the film more the 2nd time, and though it didn't make me embrace the film as so many others have, it did help me understand why I didn't enjoy it.

And so "The Dark Knight" was never a priority for me. The people who made "Batman Begins" made this film. And since I knew that, I was not thrilled to see this movie. Even after hearing the heaps and heaps of praise thrown at the film, and hearing about awards and the boxoffice - that was all muted, when the people praising the film then mentioned how cool the first movie was. Ick. But I've wanted to see it for some time now, just so I could get that out of the way. And last night I did.

"The Dark Knight" is the best Batman movie I've ever seen. It was a HUGE improvement over the first film, in almost every way. I wouldn't call it a superhero movie, because it really doesn't feel like one; it feels more like James Bond...only with a much better story than James Bond has ever gotten. The movie has balls. The movie has GREAT performances; Heath Ledger's Golden Globe win for supporting actor wasn't a sympathy vote. This was the first Batman story that ever made me afraid of The Joker. Two-Face was also given the best treatment I've seen of the character. Though for my money, Christian Bale's Batman will always come in 2nd to Kevin Conroy's Animated Batman. Is the movie perfect? No. There are plot holes (The Joker's plans are far too on the money; how did Two-Face get out of the car crash unscathed), and some weak moments (the love story was better served here, but not by much; Gordon's speech at the end could have been better) that recall the first film's problems, but these moments are surrounded by brilliance. Is it worthy of Best Picture? I guess it depends on the competition. Is it worth seeing? Yes. It is.

After "The Dark Knight" I started watching "Prince Caspian" (which is due back today), but I was really tired, and kind of tipsy from the wine, so I went to bed. I had a series of strange dreams. The Joker made an appearance. And some of the scenes were quite nightmarish, but I was fine with them. In one of the earlier dreams I went over to Shawn Foreman's new apartment, and it turned out he was now living on Mooreville Road (the street I grew up on), and the apartment complex was next to the cemetary, in a spot with this cool house I've always wanted to see the inside of, and I actually said to Shawn that I've always wanted to see the inside of these apartments. lol.

I woke up from that series of dreams around 9am. Pissed. Told Mark that I probably wouldn't get to see 'Prince Caspian' as I was still tired. He said that he didn't have to leave for work until 1pm. I said I was still tired and went back to bed.

More strange dreams.

I dreamt mostly about Mark in this one. We were living in our old apartment, only it was now also located in Mooreville, where my Aunt Marg's house is. I had been thinking about her back yard the other day, and how I used to love playing over there...and how I never just walk over there when I visit my relatives; I should do that next time. Anyways - it showed up in my dreams. Also the other day, Mark asked me how Shawn & Jonathan are doing and if they're still together, which I did, giving him all the new info I had, which explains maybe why Shawn was in my previous dream, and why he showed up again here. In this dream, Mark was talking to Shawn on the phone, and I came over to listen in on their conversation, and it became the oddest vision. You know, how in movies or tv shows they will show 2 people on the phone in separate locations, but it will be split screen and you can see them both? When I listened in it was like we were all in split screen; we could all see each other (me & Mark, Shawn & Jonathan). It was so weird. And while I was seeing them in their apartment, which was still up the road in this dream, it was also FAR away in their new digs. It made perfect sense in my dream. Shawn was naked from the waste down, but was lying on his stomach on the floor. He was talking about something sexual to Mark, but I got sidetracked looking up at Jonathan, who was working on a video editing project (which I remember thinking that was a strange assignment for an RN to have to do), and he was naked from the waste down too (well his underwear was around his knees) but he wasn't facing me. I was gonna compliment his ass, which he'd obviously been working on, but I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. In a way, the dream wasn't sexual at all; it was the height of casual. It was like me and Mark hanging out naked, which we do all the time, and it's not sexual. It just is what it is. I woke up about that time...which was 12 noon.

Then I wrote this, while taking breaks to answer e-mail; myspace and facebook comments.

I had a mostly good day. I chatted. I shaved my head and showered. I read more of my Xanth book, and was actually enjoying it. It's a really short book, yet it's taking me a long time to read it. Xanth books are hard for me to read; they don't come naturally to me. I have to push myself to read them; even the volumes I've enjoyed. Don't know why that is. But I've got nearly all 30 some books in the series and I'm gonna read them damn it!

Mark's having some troubles at work. He's been unhappy there for some time. His problems are almost all beyond his control. He's been with this company for over 6 years; and was part of the first iteration, when they were just working out of this guy's basement. They've moved up in the world since then, but Mark's been underpaid per industry standard for all those years. He was promised a raise in October which never materialized, but even if he'd gotten it, he'd be underpaid. He's constantly working for these people, even when he's home. Even when he's home sick. It's nearly impossible for Mark to relax. Mark is stressed out and understandably so. I wish there was more I could do for him...only there isn't...so I get stressed and things just get worse. It sucks.

I spoke to Mollie yesterday, and her mother's health is hitting another rough patch. I hope Mollie is ok.

I got a message from my friend Karen, letting me know one of my former co-workers, and an old friend of mine named Varian is working in the area and wants to see me. I hope I get to see her soon; I've missed her so much. She used to be a greeter at Meijer, and I'd visit her during her night shift and talk for hours. It was great.

No real news today.

BSG 4.5 starts tomorrow night.

I watched the movie "The Women". It was a chick flick. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend the movie to anyone either. There was nothing special about it in my opinion. It was just there.

I got most of Mollie's BSG discs done yesterday. I had a fun, somewhat relaxing day. Interesting dreams. I have 110 pages left in my Xanth book.

BSG 4.5: "Sometimes a Great Notion" will air in less than 18 hours. It's about FRACKING time! It's been exactly 6 months since the previous episode. 9 weeks from tonight and the series finale will air. And then we BSG fans will just have "The Plan", the dvds, and Caprica to look forward to.

I slept well. I got Mollie's BSG disks finished. I need to finish some other discs and package them all up; hopefully I'll get them out ASAP next week.

I've taken a very pro-active role in getting Mark to work on time the last few days, and it's fun. And he appreciates it. And I've been supporting him in other ways. It's good.

Mark came back right after I wrote that. lol. He forgot his longjohns yesterday and was freezing all day; did the same today and came back in while the car warmed up. I helped as best as I could to hurry him. He was smiling.

Battlestar Galactica is on in less than 9 hours. :-0)

Here's some Caprica News.

I watched "Iron Man". It was pretty good, as far as super hero movies go. It was better than the 2 Fantastic Four movies; better than "Superman Returns" or "Batman Begins". A good beginning. It's about on par with the Spider-Man or Blade movies, which I think are ok, but not something I want to rewatch. My favorite comic movies are the X-Men series, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, The Crow, Sin City.

A little over 4 hours until BSG! ;-0)

So I was talking to Mark last night about me hooking up with guys that I don't end up dating and he doesn't like it. I knew this on some level because Mark is always really cruel to me after I've had a guy over; he's grouchy and acts like he wants me to be ashamed about my actions, even when I'm really happy about them. Actually, he feels like these men are laughing at him, which I don't quite understand, as it doesn't bother him when I'm dating someone. But for me...having sex with a guy is part of my process of determining if a guy is boyfriend material. There are lots of things that are important in a relationship, but if we're not sexually compatable, I want to know before I'm too emtionally involved. I've been through that a couple times and it's beyond terrible. Yet I don't like having sex with guys that I'm not connected with one some basic level. I need something of a connection or it's pointless. And now that I know how Mark feels about it, I come to the conclusion that for Mark's feelings to be spared I'll have to hide this part of myself from him when possible. Otherwise he spoils the fun of it, and if I can't get passed that then I'll never end up dating anyone ever again. But it's not easy to keep this from him when he's usually home when I have guys over. I don't feel safe going to another guy's place. Plus even if he's not around, he reads my blog, which means anything I post about the guys I've gone out with he'll read anyways. Maybe I'll have to start posting spoiler warnings that tell him not to read any further. I don't know what the solution will be, but it's on my mind.

So I saw the first of the final 10 episodes of BSG. So much was revealed, or implied. Still so many questions needing answers. It was strange watching it on television, with commercials. Plus, it comes in so bad on our tv that it's almost like seeing it in black and white, with static and stuff. I look forward to seeing it again in blazing color. I'm in shock I think. So much happened, and there's so much that I need to think about it. One of the revelations was kind of lame in my opinion, but there were other things that were awesome. We'll see how I feel about it once I watch it again. Oh...and one musical choice really moved me; I hope it's on the soundtrack.

I think I have the flu. Either that or my pills have just starting having no effect at all.

“Sometimes I live in the country. Sometimes I live in the town. Sometimes I get a great notion. To jump in the river and drown.”

Ok. I'm completely haunted by tonight's BSG episode, "Sometimes a Great Notion". I was laying in bed, drifting off, and parts kept coming back, and I started crying. I'm of the opinion that it was brilliant, but that we're obviously not in posession of all the facts...which is annoying. It will be interesting to see the series when it's all available. If I could just wait 9 weeks, but I so can't. lol.

And "All Along the Watchtower" is back in my head. Blah.

Mark thinks they're going to fuck up the story to a point where it doesn't make sense. I have more faith than he does, because I trust these writers, yet I have my doubts as well. It's easy to have doubts between installments. So much easier on dvd to just jump to the next episode, and the next, and the next.

I had good, action oriented dreams. Like I was kicking ass in several of them. I also dreamed of watching home movies with Janice and her family; a factory with a roller coaster built into it (roller coasters are a recurring theme in my dreams); hanging out with several tv show stars. I was woken up by Mark talking loudly on the phone.

Sunday evening I took my movie rentals back (never finished Mummy 3, which I decided was for the best). I went to the bank and to Kroger. Came home. I had a really hot chat with Trevor, and onlineMark. I chatted on gay.com, where I randomly had some really nice exchanges with Adam P, from back in the day (circa 1995-1999). His asshole brother is less an asshole now and lives in Ann Arbor. He still sees Dan (AKA Farmer Ted) around and Dan is still hot for him (when he's drunk). BriWeena has his shit together and has returned to Grand Rapids, but may be in town this weekend for the autoshow. And Adam and I got along famously, with many compliments between us. It was fun. He still loves the boxed wine, and is loving the frozen blueberries. We want to hang out sometime; drink wine, chat and laugh. ;0)

I'm hoping the get the new Wolverine, and L Word episodes before I ship out Mollie's discs. Also hoping that I might actually make it to Necto tonight.

Thursday evening Mike, Bryan, DJ and maybe John are coming over to play AVP, spend time, exchange dvds and chat it up. Nice.

Friday we have the next installment of BSG.

Been talking to Mollie on the phone the last few days, and she's been really happy, which has been nice to hear.

I miss Jennifer.

I can't believe I'm still awake.

I just watched last week's Smallville. It featured 3 members of the Legion: Rokk Krinn (Cosmic Boy), Imra Ardeen Ranzz (Saturn Girl) and Garth Ranzz (Lightning Lad / Live Wire). It also featured Persuader (of the Fatal Five) and referenced Querl Dox (Brainiac 5). Doomsday also showed up again. All extremely cool, for those in the know. ;-0)

In 4 days I'll be watching the next installment of BSG on our crappy cable connection.

I went to Necto a bit after Mark got home. I wasn't sure I could make it, but Mark encouraged me to get out of the house, and it was great advice. I shaved and got dressed up; something I haven't really done in months. I weigh just under 180lbs. I was up to 190. My body weight has usually circled 170 the last few years, though 2 years ago when my stomach problems were getting bad I was down to 140. Before I started eating in about 1996, I weighed 120.

Anyways. I had fun at the bar. Saw some people. Danced to classic goth tunes, like Ministry's "Everyday is Halloween", Siouxsie's "Cities in Dust"(?), Apop's "Love Never Dies" - plus other assorted tracks, such as Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch". A fun time was had by Jason. ;-0)

But I feel fat. I got some exercise thouogh, which I'm glad about. But I'd really like to get back down to 170 which isn't too small, and isn't too big. It's my perfect weight in my opinion. Blah. I just feel out of shape, and I don't like it. Even though I got hit on a bit. It's not about that. It's about me.

It's now Tuesday. Less than 4 days until BSG. :-0)

About Battlestar Galactica (especially last Friday's episode "Sometimes a Great Notion").

Prophecy / Destiny / Whatever.

The first Hybrid said in "Razor":

"Soon there will be four, glorious in awakening, struggling with the knowledge of their true selves."

This obviously refers to Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol, Tori Foster & Samuel Anders discovering they are Cylons in "Crossroads, Part 2".

"The pain of revelation bringing new clarity and in the midst of confusion, he will find her."

I now think this section probably refers to the finding of 'Earth' and Saul realizing that Ellen Tigh is the final Cylon.

"Enemies brought together by impossible longing. Enemies now joined as one. The way forward at once unthinkable, yet inevitable."

I'm thinking this concerns the Cylon / Human alliance.

"And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering."

I think this foretells the return of Ellen Tigh. The redemption could mean many things. She betrayed her husband multiple times, and humanity.

"I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin."

This part seems to foretell the end of the Threes. The final 3 remains on Earth to die at the end of "Sometimes a Great Notion" which means the 'Significant Seven' (the 7 models of Cylon that we've seen through most of the series) have been reduced to 6 models. It also refers to their belief that they are sinless, which stems from their (and Baltar's) belief system in the Cylon God.

"But in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into many."

This seems to reference the Cylon civil war.

"And then, they will join at the promised land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning."

I think this references how the series will end. Note that 'the promised land' isn't Earth - or at least not the planet they found in "Revelations" which was called Earth. I believe the reference to the angel is related to Kara Thrace. She has a tattoo of a wing on her arm, and she's obviously more than human, and apparently tied to the Goddess Aurora in some fashion.

"Kara Thrace will lead the human race to its end. She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death. They must not follow her."

I think the "harbinger of death" line refers to the destruction of the resurrection hub. Kara finds the rebel Cylons drifting in space and they then reveal how to destroy the hub - and once it's gone - all Cylons become mortal. Natalie even says something like she thinks it's destiny or fate that Kara Thrace found them.

I don't know what the herald of the apocalypse means. Or why she shouldn't be followed...but I'm anxious to find out.

"All this has happened before, and will happen again."

This has got to be important. It's been stated and referenced by multiple characters throughout the series:

"All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again." - Leoben in "Flesh and Bone"

"All this has happened before, and all this will happen again." - Six in "The Hand of God"

"If you believe in the gods, then you believe in the cycle of time; that we are all playing our parts in a story that is told again, and again, and again throughout eternity." - Roslin in "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part 1"

Later in the episode "Faith" another Hybrid tells Kara Thrace:

"Thus will it come to pass. A dying leader will know the truth of the Opera House. The missing Three will give you the Five who come from the home of the Thirteenth. You are the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace. You will lead them all to their end. End of line."

I still believe the dying leader is Laura Roslin. It's true that there could be other dying leaders to come, but she's connected to the Opera House through her visions. The only other option I could see would be Baltar as he's also in the visions.

The part about the missing Three refers to D'anna being boxed (at that time) and she gives the fleet the final Five Cylons as she had seen their faces before being boxed. The Final Five Cylons originated on the planet known as "Earth" - the home of the 13th Tribe. The 13th Tribe was made up of Cylons.

Ok. One of the things that I love about Battlestar Galactica is that it's an amazing show that can be even more fun to watch a 2nd time. The series seems to revel in revealing things that altar our perceptions of the early seasons. And I expect this will continue until "The Plan" airs in June (assuming it's not aired sooner...or later than that).

The 2nd time around we know that Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol, Leoben Conoy (Two), Aaron Doral (Five), Sharon Valeri (Eight), Ellen Tigh, Samuel Anders, Simon (Four), D'Anna Biers (Three), Tory Foster & Brother Cavil (One) are all Cylons. We know who lives and who dies - and why. We know that Admiral Cane is probably a Lesbian; we know that Gaeta, Gina, D'Anna & Caprica Six are probably bi. We know that Hoshi is probably gay. This knowledge makes characters like Hoshi (who I'd not noticed the first time around) pop out of the woodwork. We know that the 13th Tribe were Cylons. We know all kinds of character revelations. So...I'm hoping these rumors are true, and that they will enlighten the early seasons even more.

Ellen Tigh. Kate Vernon gave an interview in which she said that Ellen would appear in 7 of the last 9 episodes. That Ellen will return seems like a no-brainer given the reveal that she's the final Cylon, and the prophecy of the first Hybrid. But I'm hoping that these episodes might explain Ellen's odd arrival in "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down".

I have no reason to doubt that Ellen Tigh is coming back, and every reason to think that this rumor is true.

OOH! This just in. I found a BSG site that has rumors that Ellen's arrival in season 1 is possibly explained in "The Plan", and that she will most likely appear in the film. AWESOME if true.

Several sites report that Allan Nowart (a kind of background Marine introduced in Season 3 and recurring since then) will have an important role in the final episodes, and it's now being rumored that he'll appear in "The Plan" as well.

It's also rumored that Jean Barolay & Sue-Shawn will appear in "The Plan", which continuity wise would make perfect sense as Anders and Brother Cavil will be appearing.

The next two are a bit more iffy, but have the potential to be true - and very interesting (if confusing at this point) choices.

Specialist Prosna. This character, who was memorably killed in the original mini-series is rumored to be appearing in the first part of the series finale. The IMDB has him listed as played by the original actor, Michael Eklund. What could this possibly mean? And if this appearance pans out, will this make his original appearance 'pop' when we see it?

Zak Adama. Lee's brother Zak is rumored to appear in the final 3 episodes, again played by the same actor who played him in "Act of Contrition": Tobias Mehler. Does this mean we'll get a series of flashbacks at the end? Time Travel? Or do these characters resurrect?

Are these rumors even valid? IMDB lists Kandyse McClure as appearing as well, and her character died in the last new episode. And IMDB is often extremely unreliable. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

On the other hand, I know for a fact that they are bringing back at least 1 bit player from the mini-series for the post-series movie "The Plan" ('Giana'). So that kind of attention to old characters isn't unheard of with this show.

Ok. This is mostly old info, but there's enough new info to do an update. Plus it's fun for me. lol

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan
Written by Jane Espenson
Directed by Edward James Olmos
Production Start: Sep 8, 2008
Airdate: June 2009

The movie will definitely air sometime after the series ends, so after Friday, March 20, 2009. A piece at Sci-Fi said it would air in June 2009 - but other sources claim that the date isn't certain, but this could just refer to the actual air date not being mentioned beyond JUNE.

It's reported that the movie will be released on DVD shortly after airing, just as previous tv movie "Razor" did before it. Edward James Olmos also said in an interview, that the dvd would most likely include an extended director's cut of the feature. It's possible that "The Plan" will be packaged with the Season 4.5 DVD set.

Edward James Olmos has directed other episodes. These episodes include Season 1's "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down" (which introduced Ellen Tigh), Season 3's "Taking a Break From All Your Worries", Season 4's "Escape Velocity" and the upcoming "Islanded in a Stream of Stars".

Jane Espenson (former Buffy writer) wrote Season 3's "The Passage" & "Dirty Hands"; Season 4's "Escape Velocity", "The Hub" "The Face of the Enemy" webisodes and the upcoming "Deadlock".

The movie was filmed after the series was completed, and around the same time "The Face of the Enemy" webisodes were also filmed.

From Sci-Fi's press release:

"Starting before the events of the miniseries, our story focuses on familiar characters including Cylon Number One, known as Cavil, Resistance Leader Sam T. Anders and Chief Galen Tyrol. In the beginning, the Cylons had a plan, but it didn't account for one thing: survivors. During the chaotic aftermath of the destruction, two powerful Cylon agents struggle with plots and priorities on the human ships that got away, and among the resistance fighters who were left behind."

Jane Espenson had this to say:

"The events of The Plan are the events that you've seen...in the show, from the miniseries to almost the end of season two. So it's that chunk of time, but sort of seen with the Cylon perspective. So you're going to see a lot of stuff that was going on that you weren't aware of at the time: on Caprica, in the fleet. That was when the Cylons, as depicted in the original show, were very mysterious, enemies that would come out of the darkness and retreat. And this is...what were they really doing all that time: What was the the internal stuff. A lot of loose ends are tied up, a lot of questions are asked that you don't even know that you have. If you had a copy right now, you might feel that you could go ahead and watch it, because it's about stuff that already happened. But it's very much designed to be watched after the run of the series, because it definitely relies on stuff you don't learn until much later... We made tons of changes in the preproduction phase and ended up with a really tight script that we filmed sort of as they were demolishing the sets out from under us. And we ended up with something that I think is so much better than our highest hopes had been for what this movie could be. It really sort of caps off the show."

It's interesting that it follows the Cylon perspective though the end of the 2nd Season, because that's when we started seeing more from the Cylon perspective in the show through "Downloaded" and later in the 3rd Season with Gaius on the Cylon ship. From "Downloaded" onward we got the Cylon perspective and now this movie is set to fill in some of the blanks - sounds awesome.

The movie stars:

Aaron Douglas ("Chief Tyrol")
Matthew Bennett ("Doral")
Tricia Helfer ("Number Six")
Michael Hogan ("Saul Tigh")
Lymari Nadal ("Giana")
Edward James Olmos ("Admiral Adama"),
Grace Park ("Boomer"/"Athena"),
Callum Keith Rennie ("Leoben"),
Rekha Sharma ("Tory Foster"),
Dean Stockwell ("Brother Cavil"),
Michael Trucco ("Samual Anders"),
Rick Worthy ("Simon")

The International Movie Database lists 3 other recurring characters as appearing:

Colin Corrigan ("Nowart")
Alisen Down ("Jean Barolay") &
Maya Washington ("Sue-Shaun").

It would be nice to see Jean Barolay & Sue-Shaun again as presently, both characters are deceased. Sue-Shawn was killed by Kara Thrace (at Sue-Shawn's request) in Season 2's "The Farm". While Jean Barolay was killed by an unnamed Cylon model Six which Jean had previously murdered on New Caprica; Jean's death happened in the 4th Season episode: "Faith".

Nowart has been a mostly background character since he was introduced in Season 3's "The Woman King". It's been said that his role will be expanded to some degree by the end of the series, so seeing him at an earlier point in the series would also be interesting.

Lymari Nadal's character Giana, appeared in the original miniseries. She was the Caprican who escaped along with Boomer and Baltar when Helo was left behind. She was heard asking about her husband who served in the Colonial Fleet near Gemenon. She hasn't been seen since. Nadal is also Edward James Olmos's real life wife.

It's been reported that Kate Vernon's Cylon character Ellen Tigh will also appear, possibly explaining how she survived the Cylon attack on the colonies. In the same report, it is theorized that Jennifer Halley's deckhand / viper pilot character Diana Seelix may also appear - though this is merely conjecture at this point.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Saul Tigh and Tory Foster, though they both appear, will only be seen in a limited capacity.

Almost all of the cast is made up of Cylon characters, with the exception of Three/D'Anna Biers. I'm wondering if Lucy Lawless's character of Three might not show up in some old footage or something to complete the set?

I wonder at what point the movie ends? Sometime in Season 2, but when exactly? That's less than a year from the BSG characters perspective.

There's a page set up for the film on the Battlestar Wiki, though much of the information I learned about the film is not represented there.

Most of what I learned above (that doesn't feature a link) was discovered while searching for info on the movie back in December 2008. These are the articles that I found then, in case anyone reading this wants to dig deeper:

The Los Angeles Times had this in August. Also in August, BSG writer Mark Verheiden's blog had this to say. Also in August, the Chicago Tribune offered this piece. Then in late August, there was a blog / report on Door Q that had this to say. In September, IGN had this to add. Also in September, the Chicago Tribune offered this cast update. And lastly, there's this interview with the writer Jane Espenson in December.

And that's all I've got for now.

I got Mark off to work about as fast as was possible to do (talking him out of a shower, getting his breakfast ready for him), but he was probably at least a few minutes late. That stresses me. I'm trying to keep him going, and get him there early every day. Today there were problmes that couldn't be avoided though. :0(

Mark might be up for another job. I really hope he gets it, but I don't want to get too invested in the idea as I don't want to deal with fallout if it all implodes before it begins. I'm trying to keep Mark's feet planted on the ground too. It's a good sign that this job came up, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Please.

I went back to bed after Mark left (and I finished the new X-Men episode). I slept well. I woke up around 8pm. I read the news. Searched for new Battlestar stuff, as I'm prone to do of late. I had a snack. Showered.

I need to clean up and send some messages out about the AVP party I'm having. I need to get all this stuff sorted. It would be nice if I could get some reading in. For awhile I was reading at least 1 book a week, and now I've just been reading this one book for over a month. It's kind of pathetic. And despite having read over half of my Trek books, I realized I still have a whole series of books to read before I can read the new installments. Ugh. It will be fun once I get around to it though.

Gay video from AfterElton.com

Matt Alber: End of the World

This video plays on it's own no matter what I've tried...which is annoying. But I'm in love with the song and the video is very cool. So people will just have to deal.

I did the dishes. I washed 3 loads of laundry; I've got a load in the dryer and one waiting. I cleaned up the living room. I picked up some of the clutter in my room and made my bed.

Mark was supposed to set up the computers when he got home but he decided he'd sleep for a few hours first; that was around midnight I think. I tried waking him up around a quarter to 4am, but he wouldn't get up. It's been almost 2 hours since then and now I'm exhausted. Blah.

If you're shocked by the sounds you're hearing; by the music that's about to start playing, it's just a video that I posted recently, that refuses to not play on it's own. Scroll down to see it, or pause it. lol

I tried getting Mark up again around 6:30am, but he just said he'd do it later on his own and I could go to bed. He woke me up when he was leaving for work to tell me everything was all set up (and I noticed he was leaving for work on time, all on his own) - this was all good news. Except I couldn't get back to sleep.

I sent a facebook message to Mike, Bryan and DJ - then left them all voicemails to remind them that we're aiming for 7:30; that DJ won't be there until later; and to remind DJ & Mike to bring the dvds they've borrowed from me so I can give them the next dose they've wanted. ;0)

I should vacume my room. I'm gonna try to get some more sleep.

I'd love to invite Michael; he used to enjoy playing a lot. He even got his own copy of the game and was planning on having his own lan parties. But now it just seems like it would be weird. So much unsaid between us. But I think this is almost completely his fault. It just sucks.

I slept for another hour, I think. I rested at least. I took a shower. I left a voicemail for my friend James to see if he wanted to play AVP with us tonight. I chatted with Mark. I ate and read about Trek. And now I'm writing this.

I need to finish my laundry, vacume my room, and set up the computers for the game.

Bryan was the first to arrive last night, around 7:30pm. We had a nice long hug, and then caught up; chatting away. It was nice. Mike soon joined us and there was more great conversation. So nice to see them again. DJ arrived sooner than I expected and we chatted some more while we set up the game. The game was fun. Bryan left around 9:30pm I think. Then we talked about getting food. We all piled into DJ's van and went to Little Caesars, where we met James, who was joining us for another round of AVP. I got some wine and gave some money to DJ for gas. I rode with James back to the condo. FOOD. Conversation. And the games began again. It was a lot of fun. Everyone left around 2am.

Mike let me borrow Lost (Seasons 1-3). Bryan borrowed BSG (Season 4.0). Mike borrowed Season 30 of the Whoniverse (Torchwood, Sarah Jane & Doctor Who). DJ returned some dvds he'd borrowed, as did Mike. It was all good.

I drank some more wine and chatted online for several hours. I watched the season premiere of The L Word. Just 7 more episodes and it will be over. Watched the new Brothers and Sisters. I finally went to bed around 8am. I slept soundly. Woke up around 4pm...though I didn't get out of bed for almost another hour.

I read the news. E-mail. I ate. And wrote this.

Battlestar Galactica is on tonight. ;-0)

I watched last night's episode of Smallville, which wasn't as good as the Legion episode. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as good as most of this season has been. There was a subplot involving Lana pulling the wool from Tess's eyes, which was far more compelling than the main story, which is what made the episode watchable in my opinion. Oh! And Mr. Gaeta himself (from BSG) had a cameo as a Smallville doctor who took care of Martian Manhunter. ;0)

Less than 1 & 1/2 hours until BSG on crappy TV. At least I'll have seen it. I've read that this episode while important to the series is kind of the calm before further revelations are revealed and the final arc kicks into high gear. We'll see. I mean, I have no reason to doubt that information. Ron Moore (the head honcho behind BSG) who makes his directorial debut with tonight's episode has this to say about it:

"It's a character piece. It's a smaller show; I designed it deliberately to be that way. I wanted to take a breath after the events, the shocking events, of the past couple of episodes. Things were happening huge. Revelations were coming one on top of another. And now I wanted to do a smaller piece that was just about people on the ship and where they are in their lives before the next giant arc just sort of pulls them along into even bigger events."

Also, "The Face of the Enemy" webisodes would appear to tie into tonight's episode. It should be fun (for a geek like me) to figure out exactly the order of these things. Tonight's episode is called "A Disquiet Follows My Soul".

I realized earlier that I wasn't awake in time to help Mark off to work. I hope he got there ontime. I love him, and want his life to run smoothly.

I watched the new BSG at 10pm. It was pretty good. It felt like the calm before the storm. There were several scenes I loved, and one huge reveal that I had figured out on my own, days before watching the episode, which didn't ruin it for me - in fact I felt good about being right about something for once. lol

After the episode, I got ready to go the grocery store with Mark. We left as soon as he got home, around 11:40pm. I didn't end up getting much. Mark rented some movies though. I decided while we were at the store that I wanted to go to Necto.

When we got home I shaved, and showered and got ready for the bar. I left around 12:40. I had to park in the structure, but I got right in to the bar. I tipped the coatcheck people, as I always do. I got a drink. Said hello to a friend. And then I danced. The music on Fridays often sucks. Tonight it wasn't that bad, and I really wanted to dance so I did. I noticed a few guys checking me out, including 1 adorable guy that I figured must be a newbie. I didn't really go there to find someone and I just smiled at the attention and danced on.

Later I ran into more people I knew. Bobby was there. Trevor's ex, Bryan was there, though I've never seen him in person before. Keevan was there (though I didn't get a chance to say hello. Becky. Anthony. I danced more. And I smiled. Sometimes just watching people is enough to make me smile, and tonight was like that. Plus the cute newbie was still checking me out, which made me feel...nice.

Later I sat by the dancefloor and the newbie boy and one of the girls he'd been dancing with came over and stood near me. I kept catching him looking at me and he was so adorable. I reminded myself that I wasn't looking though, and that he was probably newly 18; barely 4 years older than my oldest nephew; and 15 years younger than me.

When I was pretty sure I was ready to leave I decided I'd say hi. I didn't want the newbie guy to have a bad experience. I wanted him to know that he was cute and that everything was ok...and it wasn't all in his head. And I wanted to know that it wasn't all in my head either. I walked over and asked if they were a couple. They weren't. The girl's name was Laryssa I think (it was loud) and the boy's name sounded like Brandon. They had both come to A2 for school, had met each other in Ann Arbor. Brandon was18. I told them that I didn't mean to bother them, and that I was leaving.

I got my jacket and hat from the coat check but when I went to say goodbye to Anthony, he pulled me on the dancefloor for one final dance. It was nice. I smiled more. I felt good. When the song was over we hugged. I said goodbye to Brandon again and explained that Anthony had wanted 1 last dance and then I turned to leave, but then turned back at the last second and told Brandon he was really cute. He said I was cute too. I smiled and told him I'm a lot older than I look and he said that was fine. I told him I'm 34, and he said that was fun and smiled. And I told him again that he was adorable, and said I was leaving, then I kissed his cheek, and that was that.

I came home and talked to Mark about the bar, then came in here and wrote this. I'm gonna read the BSG reviews...and probably chat some.

I should go back to wearing eyeliner every day. It really looks good.

I watched 5 episodes of Ally I think. I ate. I slept some more. I downloaded Friday's BSG episode. I organized more discs for Mollie. Basically just did random things that needed to be done, but enjoyed it all. I'm in a good mood.

I watched some of Jay Brannen's music videos on myspace early this morning. Someone mentioned them to me in passing a few weeks ago, and all I knew him from was "Shortbus", but I'd listened to his song from that for months afterwards...so I figured I'd check him out eventually. His songs are amusing. I downloaded some from ITunes.

I made an impulse purchase this morning. There was a sale on Amazon that was ending today - $59.95 for the entire series set of Six Feet Under. That's more than half off. And it's something that I've always wanted but never thought I'd spend the money on, as it was just too damned expensive. Well...I ordered it on the spot. But then felt weird about spending the money as I've been really good about NOT spending lately. I tried to cancel the order but it was too late. I could ship it back once it arrives, and then just pay the return shipping cost - but I'm thinking I'll probably keep it. Or not. I don't know. I want it. But...I don't know. It would be different if I had a job. If I had a job I'd just write it off as no big deal, enjoy the sale and purchase, and then not spend for the week or whatever. Blah.

I hate feeling like my life is on hold until this fricking surgery that may or may not work...I'm trying not to get depressed about all that again, but it's hard. I have to constantly distract myself with other things...or I fear it may consume my every waking thought...and I'm not convinced I could survive that.

I have 4 episodes left of Ally's 4th Season, though I haven't watched any since this morning before I slept. I had odd dreams about fighting vampires; hiding from serial killers; 4 wheeling down country roads; playing vollyball. The country road is an extension of Mooreville Road in Milan Mi, but in my dreams it's like a completely different world - that remains the same in all my dreams. The vollyball game also took place in Mooreville, in the same spot that a few weeks ago I envisioned Shawn & Jonathan living... Hmmm. Something going on there in my brain I guess. Don't know what it means though.

I'm listening to the "Roslin & Adama" theme from Season 2 of BSG. It's so pretty. A new version of it was played in Friday's episode.

I made a new BSG page on my site, devoted to the movie "The Plan", which can be found here. This way I don't have to keep doing updates in my blog; I'll just update my site and maybe post a link in my blog for those that are interested.

Mark & I had a disagreement. He remembers things one way. I remember them another. It's upsetting.

The BSG music is pretty, but sad. It fits my mood at the moment.

I watched the latest X-Men episode. It was ok. Better than the previous installment, but still not as good as some of the better episodes. I've become a huge fan of the Emma Frost character, so any episode that doesn't feature her in a big way loses points, even if this one featured my childhood crush, Nightcrawler, Scarlet Witch, and I think the first appearance of Lorna Dane (Polaris). Hmmm. I do love the huge cast of characters.

I chatted online for a bit. Mostly with Matthew Hable. I dated him briefly about 5 years ago, when he was 19, and I was 29. He dumped me over the phone back then, but quickly came to regret his actions; mostly I think because his friends then met me and fell in love with me. lol. But it was over and I had moved on. We still chat though (obviously).

My stomach is kind of upset, and has been for much of the last 12 hours or so. I'm gonna take a bath.

I tried getting Mark up for work this morning, but he refused and I didn't have the energy to drag him out of bed, as I was awake even later than usual, and had only had 2 hours sleep. Plus my alarm that woke me to get Mark out of bed woke me up from a really hot sex dream, which was annoying me. lol

I was trying to get Mark up an hour before he had to leave, because then he can get there early, but he wanted to get up a half hour before he has to leave and that that always makes him late, and probably did this morning, as when he came in to say he was leaving the clock said he had 9 minutes to get there. I felt bad seeing that time, and knew I should have put my foot down and gotten him out of bed on my time table; the one that we agreed that I'd get him up before he went to sleep. Erg.

My stomach was in even worse shape when I woke up about 10 minutes later. It hurt. I took a bath, but it was still so soon after Mark had showered that I ran out of hot water before I could get a proper amount of water. It sucked beyond the telling of it.

Later I collapsed into sleep once more.

I woke up around 8pm. I cleaned up my room a bit, and downloaded the new L Word. Now I can put that on one of Mollie's discs. I have to burn more discs now.

Oh. I finally read more of my Xanth book yesterday! I now have less than 100 pages left. This book is killing me. lol

I didn't go to Necto last night, as I wanted to make sure my stomach was doing better. I really need to get groceries. I finished Season 4 of Ally McBeal and started Season 5, which was better than I remembered it being; perhaps I'll come away loving the entire series. Hmmm. I slept.

I woke up around 5am. I found that Friday's episode of BSG had been posted on Hulu with the director's commentary, so I watched / listened to that, which amused me, though not as much as the previous installment. It was interesting to hear about the scenes that we'll be seeing in the extended dvd cut (which can't come out soon enough).

I finished Mollie's discs, along with all the printed material explaining how her new BSG discs fit in with the old ones - and listing what's on all the other discs I'm sending. I was hoping to send these out last week, but at least the delay allowed me to add some more BSG, X-Men & L Word episodes.

Speaking of L Word episodes, I watched Sunday's episode and I have to applaud the continuity this season. They seem to be bringing back older characters right and left, and mentioning others - while continuing stories from last season that I assumed would have been discarded in classic L Word fashion. Very cool. I look forward to the final 6 episodes.

Battlestar Galactica has only 8 episodes left. 7 weeks from Friday the series will end. New projects will come out, but there will be nothing that continues the adventures of this set of characters; not like this. Which is fine. I respect that. It's just very bittersweet. We'll have the tv movie, The Plan, which is a neat look back on the first 2 seasons - we'll have the DVD's with extended cuts of the finale and another episode or two - which is sure to bring new levels to the episodes we already have. And then we'll have Caprica, which is an all new story, but will of course feature young Billy Adama, the mentioned Joseph Adama, Cylons, Caprica and the colonies; all familiar pieces but used in a completely new puzzle.

A phone call woke up Mark, who is trying to get back to sleep, and thinks that he's sick. At least if he is sick it came at a semi-decent time, as he has today and the next 2 days off. Though he has a job interview tomorrow, which would suck. It would also suck if he got me sick, as he was more affectionate than usual last night - probably because he knew he had the next 3 days of and felt relaxed as a result. I hope he gets to relax a little.

I need to go to Best Buy today to find a dvd holder to mail out Mollie's discs in. I need to go to the bank and the grocery store. I was going to do all that this morning, but now that I remember that Mark isn't working today, I relealize I could take a nap, and go later. Which my tired eyes appreciate.

I went to the bank, Best Buy, Meijer and Kroger. I got Mollie's dvd case for like $5.00, with a coupon. I got some Boost, cash and snacks. I came home with Pizza and bread for Mark & I to enjoy, but the Pizza wasn't how I liked it (blah). I watched 2 episodes of Ally. I have about 15 episodes left I think. And I'm enjoying it, so hopefully I'll satisfied with the ending.

I finally got to sleep around 1pm. Slept until around 8. When I woke up I found that some things that I'd ordered through Amazon had arrived. 1 was the last of a Star Wars book trilogy that I'd like to read, which I ordered last year. The other was the complete series set to Six Feet Under. I'd ordered it on impulse (and for a fantastic price) on Sunday. I'd considered sending it back as I don't have a lot of cash these days...but looking at all I got for the money I spent, I know I'm holding on to it for as long as I can. It's beautiful. It has all 5 seasons (63 episodes), the 2 soundtracks (which I've always wanted), and a bunch of other things - plus the packaging is just superb. Nice.

I called my Grandmother, but I didn't get an answer so I left her a message. I called a missed call with a # I didn't recognize. I called my sister Janice and talked to her for awhile; she talked to Mark too. It was nice. Then I left Mollie a message, explaining the delay to her discs (the weather, new content, the weekend) and raving about Six Feet Under, which she fully supported me keeping.

I ate. Hung out with Mark. Read some news. And wrote this.

Mark taught me how to convert mpg files to avi format, which I've been doing so Mollie will have more BSG to watch. I'm half way done with that. I also read more of the Xanth book. About 70 pages to go I think. It's picking up a little now, thankfully. I'll be happy when I finish this one.

I've not chatted with Vance online lately; I wonder if he still reads my blog?

I got a text message from this boy Caleb that I met 4 months ago, and have never spoken to since then.

Speaking of "Since Then". I hate it when people type Sense instead of Since. They are 2 completely different words. It's bad enough hearing people say them in the wrong context, but to see it spelled out is just wrong. Wrong I tell you! And when people say 'of' instead of 'have': "It could of been". No. It could HAVE been. Ugh. Drives me bonkers.

Anyways.

I'm sorting some pictures. I might have decided at least one thing I want to do with my collage; inspiration is an odd thing.

I kind of want to jack off. I kind of want to play Diablo II on the computer downstairs. I would really love to get fucked right now, but as I'm not in a relationship, and I don't know anyone I trust enough to do the deed...I'm screwed - only not. :0( Oh well.

Gage (last seen: "Resurrection Ship, Part 2")
President Roslin
Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace
Saul Tigh
Galen Tyrol
Tom Zarek

I'm guessing that Ellen Tigh will return in this episode, though if she doesn't, she's definitely coming back in the next one.

I just watched 5 episodes of Ally McBeal; I have 11 episodes left. Ally's daughter was just introduced...and she's 'the cheerleader' from Heroes. lol I don't think I'll be watching any more episodes tonight. I can only take so much. But I'll soon have seen every episode. ;0)

I slept some last night. Traded more e-mails with Brandon.

Tried reading fan commentary on BSG to tide me over until tonight but found it depressing with people commenting on things they obviously couldn't grasp, though the show was pretty clear on those topics. And I've now seen a million people referring to Ellen Tigh as Helen - and Gaeta as Gata. I just hardly ever get along with people who are fans of the same shows I am - because most people are stupid - and even if they like the same stuff I do, they're still stupid. It grates on my nerves.

I'm kind of hungry, but my food choices are severely limited - and I'm tired of them.

I took some midrin; hope it works fast.

13 hours until BSG.

After tonight's episode we'll have 7 episodes left. The finale is split over 2 installments (the last of which will be 2 hours long, and is rumored to be another hour longer on dvd). So really, after tonight's installment we have 5 episodes, and then the multi-part finale.

Including Razor & the webisodes episode here's what we have left.

4x16 The Oath (tonight's episode)
4x17 Blood on the Scales
4x18 No Exit
4x19 Deadlock
4x20 Someone to Watch Over Me
4x21 Islanded in a Stream of Stars
4x22 Daybreak, Part 1
4x23 Daybreak, Part 2 (2-hours)

My headache is mostly gone.

I'm bored.

I exchanged some texts with Caleb; he's going to add me to his messengers when he gets home from work.

I responded to a comment on an After Elton (a gay inclusive entertainment site I frequent) article about Battlestar Galactica; specifically Gaeta's meatier role of late. The comment was about how Gaeta is a bad guy now, which I'm seeing a lot of people metion online, but to me this seems pretty silly. Gaeta's character arc makes complete sense; I don't see him as a villain at all. I see him as a strong character, in very difficult circumstances, that is standing up for what he believes in. This might get him killed. This might get Hoshi killed. But, while I don't want Gaeta to succeed, his actions force me to respect him even more.

A little over 10 hours 10 minutes until BSG. ;-0)

I slept for a few hours. More good dreams. I just remember pieces, but they're all good. I don't know what's brought on this spate of sweet dreams, but I'm very grateful for them.

My headache is still gone, which is also a blessing. Often times my serious headaches return after a few hours off. This one still could, but at least it's taking it's time. lol

BSG is on in about 2 hours & 20 minutes. I'll probably be watching it with Mark, which I have mixed feelings about. I'm a selfish watcher. I don't like people talking during it...unless I need to react. Which is why I enjoy it much more if I can watch it the first time by myself. I like watching movies alone and then discussing them with others. Mark likes to have subtitles on in movies, and if he misses a line he'll rewind it, which may be informative - but it takes me out of the story. It's the same if he asks me what was said - except not only does that take me out of the story but then I miss the lines they say while I'm answering him. I'd much rather watch it seperately from Mark and then talk about it later, and usually that's not a problem as Mark is at work when it's on, but he's got today off, so he's here. I love spending time with him. I do. That's not even a question. But I don't like sharing this with anyone. But I do enjoy rewatching episodes with people, as they can't really ruin it for me the 2nd time around. Not usually. lol

My headache came back after all. It just HIT ME at around 8:30; it was almost violent. I took more midrin and jumped in the shower for some hot relaxation. Mark asked if I wanted company, and usually I don't mind sharing the shower but I didn't want to leave that scalding hot spray until I'd run out of heated water. He understood; he's lived with my headaches for over 13 years now.

BSG is on in less than an hour.

I should eat something, to help the midrin kick in.

The headache is mostly gone...or at least I can't feel it when I sit still. Midrin-Shower-Food worked it's usual magic. And in about 23 minutes, I get to sit through commercials and really crappy cable television to find out what happens next in BSG land.

BSG was awesome. Except for the arguing with Mark part...which is why we should just NOT watch stuff together. Ever.

I've downloaded last night's episode of BSG. It usually takes 24 to 48 hours for them to post the episode so I was amazed to see that it was available. I've not rewatched it yet. I also finished converting 'The Face of the Enemy' webisodes for Mollie. Now I just need to burn this BSG disc and those will be ready to go.

Here's the first trailer for next week's extremely anticipated episode: "Blood on the Scales". Argh. Don't watch this if you want to avoid spoilers.

The wait for next week's episode is going to drive me out of my fraking mind!

I watched a couple more Ally episodes last night; I've only got 8 episodes left. That's 1 more than Battlestar Galactica. But Ally doesn't have anything coming after the finale, and BSG does. I keep reminding myself that we'll be getting extended cuts of several episodes, + The Plan, + Caprica. Can they wrap up the series in just 7 episodes? I wondered the same thing when DS9 was coming to a close (led by many of the same writers) - and the answer was yes. They didn't wrap up every storyline, because that's not the way life works - but they ended the series well. I guess I'm just hoping they catch lightning in a bottle for a 2nd time.

I slept, soundly, for about 9 hours today. And I loved it. Sleeping, and dreaming have been so enjoyable of late, that I can't even express it. Usually, sleeping for me, is mostly just something that I have to do - and more often than not, I wake up not feeling that great - sometimes in pain. And lately, it's not like that at all. I'm not sure what's going on, but I hope it lasts. Even if it ended now, I'm grateful for what I got.

I just checked the net for some reviews of BSG, and while there are still plenty of posts about how 'evil' Gaeta is, there are thankfully, several that can see his character arc in perspective and get that he's not a villain. You can see some of this more balanced thinking here, here, & here.
